Udupi, Mar 19: The local court, on Monday March 18, granted conditional bail to all the seven persons, who have been accused of beating up three Hindu youths, taking umbrage at the fact that they were talking to a Muslim girl.

Rajesh and Srinath from Katipalla near Suratkal, along with another youngster, who were students of an institution, were beaten up after stopping the private bus in which they were travelling, at Kaup. The group which intercepted the bus was reportedly angry at the fact that they were speaking to a girl student from another community. This gave rise to instant protest by workers of Hindu organizations, who demanded for the arrest of the culprits.

The police had arrested Mubin (31) from Mallar Pakiranakatte, Tausif (25) from Mallar Kombagudde, as well as Jalaluddin (24), Nasir (21), Rafiq (32), Mohammed Ashraf (31), and Sheikh Siraj from Uchila, in this connection. All the seven were produced in the court on Monday. Advocates, Asadulla Katapadi, and Iqbal Udupi, represented the accused in the court.

The bail conditions are that the accused have to present themselves in the presence of the investigating officer once a week, and they cannot leave their native places without the court’s permission.

The highest result of education is tolerance!!! One should have religious tolerance towards other religion. People from Udupi & Mangalore are educated. So such cases should not be given any religious importance. All such actions must be dealt as per the laws of the land. We have police, lawyers, judges & courts….. ‘I am surprised to see the supporters of BD & VHP condemning the incident, where on other side they have done such sins on so many occasions’.

I condemn moral policing whoever does it. The country has its own constitution and law nobody is allowed to take law into their hands. But if it is a conspiracy to malign a certain community similar to the Sindhagi Flag hoisting incident then a thorough investigation is required.
Two incidents are already in record. (1) Ram Sene, a pro-Hindutva outfit hoisted the Pakistani flag in Sindhagi and blamed it on the town's Muslim community in order to create the communal disturbances . (2) Sri Rama Sene president Pramod Muthalik, and top aides of his outfit, were caught on camera agreeing to vandalize an art exhibition in return for money, here this could be not money but to get the political mileage. GOD knows the best.

May the boys and the girl remain as good friends, irrespective of the political ruckus around. In Gulf, most of our best and helpful friends are Pakistanis. Let them fight back home but let us be good friends, they say.

In general NO COMMENTS on this whole issue!
We should not participate in discussion on such issues as either way it is WRONG - moral policing n taking law & order into own hands. Let the individuals to live their life n if it is right or wrong let their own relatives decide and take action unless n until they are not spoiling the society.
I suggest, both moral police n people like these 4 persons should be punished for taking law & order into their hand.

The foremost question is whether the boys were just talking to a Muslim girl or harassing her in the bus. This question can be solved, not by questioning the girl, but by impartial eye-witnesses. The girl cant be expected to go against her community at this juncture. After deciding this question the real case can be filed.
The law-breakers should not be spared.

There is total transparency in disclosing the names of the attackers and the victim by Police. The society would appreciate if same transparency is shown by the police when safron goondas attack minorities and institutions. Is the police supporting a particular community?

Police did their job perfectly in this particular episode which should be appreciated. But in vice versa cases, victims were victimized @ the rate 99%!!!If police want Good night sleep they have to act impartially @ any given MORAL POLICING incident. When we recollect criminal incidents which happened in UDUPI districts in the recent past,Police acted in time and with out bias.We have to encourage and cooperate Security officials where impartiality is essence and justice is motto.(Ex-When place of worship was attacked with in short period of time whole Moral Police unit was sent to jail under the stewardship IG(WR)!!!)

There are so many conditions for these super seven accused. There were so many incidents of similar nature in the past years and the judiciary and the police never showed interest to punish the culprits. The police always arrived on time to justify the moral policing and at the cattle transport reports. The people will lose faith on the police if the trend continue like this.
Take the example of Naveen soorinje,he is arrested for reporting a crime in his own way.He did the reporting within the guidelines of journalism but the police have their own tactics to protect themselves.

When we assaulted them for same issue they were arrested.
Now when they assaulted us, again they are arrested..
Something is wrong and it should not happen.

WHERE IS THE STUDENT FORCE ?
WON'T THEY SUPPORT THE CO STUDENTS FOR A GOOD CAUSE ?
COULD IT BE POSSIBLE A PRIVATE CHATTING IN THE BUS ?
WHERE IS THE SO CALLED LAW MAKERS PEOPLE REPS. OF THE JURISDICTION ?
WHERE IS DEMOCRACY IF ANYBODY CAN ASSAULT WHILE IN PUBLIC TRANSPORT ?
WILL IT NOT BE TENTAMOUNT TO ATTEMPT TO MURDER CASE ?
HOW A COURT CAN GRANT BAIL AND ALLOW THE CASE GET WEAKEN BY DESTROYING THE EVIDENCE ?
WHY GOVT. IS SILENT ON SUCH ISSUES?
WHY DIFFERENT LAW TO DIFFERENT PEOPLE ?
IF SO LET THE GOVT. GIVE BAIL TO ALL THOSE WHO GOT ARRESTED IN MORNING MIST INCIDENT WHERE THERE IS NO SUCH SEVERE INJURY BUT CONTINUING AT PRIVATE UNAUTHORISED PLACE .
