Dubai - Mangalore flights: AI Express, Jet change timings

Mangalore, Mar 21:  Effective March 31 the summer season begins for air travel. Air India Express, the first airline to fly internationally from Mangalore and Jet Airways, which started Mangalore - Dubai operations from January 3 this year, have changed their flight timings for Mangalore - Dubai sector.

Among the two daily flights operated by Air India Express on this route, the first one will take off from Dubai at 4.25 am local time and reach Mangalore at around 9.30 am.

The timing of the second flight remains unchanged. It takes off from Dubai at 12.10 pm local time, and lands in Mangalore at 5.25 pm.

From Mangalore : First flight will take off at 2 pm every day and land in Dubai at 4.10 pm. Second flight takes off at 8.05 pm and land in Dubai at 10.15 pm.


Jet Airways :

From March 31, Jet Airways takes off from Dubai at 2.20 am, arrival in Mangalore at 7.35 am.
From Mangalore, it takes off at 11.05 pm and arrives in Dubai at 1.20 am.

    Flightsfrom Mangalore are timed only for the benefit of the airlines and not the users. Still no connections to other Middle east cities. And no onward connections to Europe or America. Its deliberately twisted by the airline mafia. Our political leaders are busy at kambala and nagamandal seva celebrations. Mangalorean deserve better air connectivity from Mangalore to middle east and beyond.

    AI schedule from Abu Dhabi to mangalore should be changed to night flights because since it is day flight full day is wasted & hence nobody prefers to travel from Abu Dhabi by AI. Also from Mangalore to Abu Dhabi there should be a flight on Saturday which will be convenient for all as Friday & Saturday is weekly off for most of the passengers travelling from Abu Dhabi.

    Both airlines should consider best connecting flights from Bangalore/Dubai via Mangalore as there are no convenient flights from Bangalore to Dubai except Emirates quite expensive.

    We have booked Air India Express flight for summer leave based on the earlier timinigs i.e to leave Dubai at 2am and reeach Mangalore at 7.30 am. The ticket price was higher than the dayflight. Now that Air India Express reaches Mangalore at 9.30 am it won't serve our purpose. This is cheating the passengers. The timing should have been fixed at the time the bookings were opened. Is Air India Express is going refund the excess money they have charged for the night flight? Let Air India Express respect the feelings of the passengers .

    These new timing of air india have been made to facilitate jet airways.

    now since jet timing is more suitable people will travel by jet airways instead of air india in non peak seson bringiong more revenue to jet.. Coporate politics at the highest..

    Please start JET AIRWAYS FLIGHT from BAHRAIN-MLORE OR DAMAM-BAHRAIN-MLORE OR BAHRAIN-DOHA-MLORE AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. THESE ARE THE THREE CONVENIENT OPTIONS. SO PLEASE PLEASE CONSIDER THIS ROUTE AT THE EARLIEST.

    it is not a good decision for both the airline to change the timings....
    the current timings of Air India express and jet both were very good and convenient as the journey was in the late night hrs form dubai to m'lore and return in the late evening from m'lore to dubai. Those who don't want to travel in the night they had a day flight by air india express.
    Many people often fly for a short vacation or for weekend in the Dubai -m'lore sector. for these prople new timings are not so convenient as departure is scheduled in the early mornign hours, they will lose their sleep in the night and by the time they reach it will be afternoon so both the day and night are wasted.
    previously I use to leave from dubai after supper and reaching home in the morning for breakfast...Now this convenience is no more.

    overall the new timings are not at all convenient.

    Hope these timings will be reversed soon...........
