Kasargod: 110 kg ganja found in auto rickshaw, one arrested, another detained

Kasargod, Mar 21: The police on Wednesday March 20 confiscated 110 kg of ganja which was being transported in an auto rickshaw here and arrested one person and detained another.
The operation, based on reliable information, was conducted at Honnamoole in the town.
Usman
In this connection, Usman (29) from Talangere was arrested while G A Abdul Khader (44) from Alampady was detained.
Circle inspector of the town police station, C K Sunil Kumar, led the raiding party. The police found that ganja was being transported in gunny bags. Sometime back, huge stock of ganja was also seized from Karandakkad in the district.
During interrogation, the arrested person revealed that the drug was brought from Andhra Pradesh. Taking into account the quantity of drugs being smuggled, the policemen have intensified their investigation. More arrests are likely to follow in the coming days, sources said.
