Mangalore, Mar 22: "A J Hospital has proved its commitment to quality care and has been successful in getting National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) accreditation, thereby becoming the first in this region to get this recognition," said Dr Prashanth Marla, Medical Director, A J Hospital and research centre.

He was addressing a press meet held at Hotel Moti Mahal here on Thursday March 21 evening.

"A J Hospital and research centre came into existence in the year 2001, with the objective of providing world class healthcare facilities in Mangalore. It was Mr A J Shetty’s dream to make the best of health care facilities available in the coastal region of Karnataka.

"A J Hospital has completed eleven years of its service to the society. The hospital is also running many colleges in Mangalore as well. A J Hospital and Research Centre specializes in more than 30 major medical disciplines, embracing new technologies to offer high level healthcare that matches the best in the country. The hospital is supported by a team of highly qualified and experienced doctors, nursing and paramedical staffs," he said.

"The Hospital has also maintained very high quality standards and was the first hospital in this region to get ISO 9001-2000 certification by TUV in the year 2004, in a short span of 3 years from inception. Since then A J Hospital has proved its commitment to quality care and has been successful in getting NABH accreditation, which is the first in this region. NABH supported by all its stakeholders including industry, consumers and government, is itself accredited by the International Society for Quality in Helath care (ISQua), he said.

The NABH certified health care organistations are bound to be under certain pre mentioned guidelines based on the treatement levels and also the surrounding maintainace. The certification has been issued after a three days of inspection in all the ways.  General and sudden inspections will be held at point of time in the coming days, to check If the hospital adheres to the mentioned criterias, he added.

"The A J Institute of Medical Sciences has come out with the best result in the region. A few students of the Institute have achieved the best in different levels. For the first time in RGUHS Univeristy, an individual has secured the highest number of gold medals. And also for the first time in RGUHS, a student has secured first rank right from first year to final year," said Dr Santosh.

A J Shetty, President, A J Institute and research centre, Dr Ramesh Pai, Dr Santosh Shetty, Dr Abhilash and others were present.

Congratulations to AJ Institue of Medical Sciences, one of the best medical colleges and hospitals in the city backed by efficient doctors, specialists and para medical staff.

I am sure it is going to beat all the other hospitals in the city in terms of providing quality health care at a reasonable rate of expenses.

    Good luck to AJIMS.

Congratulations to AJ Hospital on getting this certification. Based on my little experience with hospitals in Mangalore, they have some of the best, when it comes to providing medical services in quite a few areas, including emergency related cases. Wishing them all the best in their services to the people.
