Mangalore, Mar 22: The district unit of BJP on Friday March 22 congratulated the newly-appointed state BJP president MP Prahlad Joshi.

Addressing a press meet at the party office, district BJP president Padmanabha Kottary said that the BJP government is completely prepared for the forthcoming state Assembly elections.

"We have already started our election campaign. On March 29 the district BJP unit will hold a convention at Nehru Maidan at 4 pm. All state leaders of BJP party as well as members from all booths of Dakshina Kannada will take part in this programme," he said.

"The party will prepare for the elections based on the achievements of the state government over the past five years. The selection process of candidates in the eight constituencies of Dakshina Kannada is complete. We are confident that the voters will bless us," he said.

He also pointed out the corruption allegations against Veerappa Moily and said, "Moily was present at the oath-taking programme against corruption organized by the district Congres party recently, but on the very next day we heard that Moily was involved in corruption. Now even Moily has joined the chain of corruption cases like 2G, Adarsh housing, Commonwealth Games, chopper deal, Vadra issue, farmers' debt waiver scam."

"The UPA government silenced Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare who were against the corruption. What can this type of government give to the people? What does Janardhana Poojary have to say on this issue? Does the Congress have any morality?" he lashed out.

"The state government has provided Kumki land to framers, and more than 3 lac farmers of Dakshina Kannada have benifited from it," he said.

"ULB Elections a Warning Bell to BJP"

Prathap Simha Nayak, district BJP in-charge said, "Our strategy for election is all chalked out. Chief minister Jagadish Shettar, Ananth Kumar, Eshwarappa, D V Sadananda Gowda and other prominent leaders will take part in the March 29 convention. Ten members from every booth will be attending this mass convention," he said.

Answering questions from media media persons, Prathap Simha Nayak said the urban local body elections was a warning bell to us. We have introspected and found that there were many reasons why we failed. This time the party has given tickets to those who are strong in their ideology and symbolise the party's principles. To some extent we failed to uphold our party's ideology but this time it will not happen.

"Though there is lot of corruption in the UPA government, people criticize BJP because they expect high standard of politics from the BJP party," he said.

Sanjeeva Mantandoor, Yogaraj Shetty, Franklin Monteiro and Raj Gopal Rai were present.

    Dear intelligent voters of Mangalore-Udupi-N.K,

I urge you all to cast your votes wisely Please vote for a change and vote for a progressive, united and peaceful Karnataka. Last 5 years have been tough for us, there have been problems almost each and every month since 2008. The present set of leaders indulged in resort politricks, scams, mindless looting of state resources, communal politics and made us suffer.

Therefore, we should now make these currupt and communal people pay a price for having exploited and used us.

Our students are still facing massive power cuts during examinations and our leaders are sleeping in AC houses. We need to vote for a change if we want a brighter future for our children.

    Peace & Progress for KA!!

Dr S kamath , Mumbai i dont agree with you. BJP lost election in Mangalore MCC only due to the split of votes among their rebels. They lost nearly 8 seats in MCC due to that. Few things effected BJP votes, but it's not that people are happy with kangress also.

Of the many reasons for the defeat of BJP in Coastal Dist One of the reasons is that Mangalore and Udupi BJP workers worked day and Night to get maximum NRI s enrolled as Voters in the Voters List .Those NRI s came in and Voted for Congress

But one thing is sure, it was a record the way our BJP CM, and his platoon of Ministers were visiting Jail. The way BJP unleashed their Vanara Saine on Minorities terrorizing them in the name of Conversion and Love Zihad. The way State resources and Land was looted left and right. The way morality and integrity of the elected MLA's was dissipated by implementing Operation Kamala, The way they created mess in Food and Civil supplies Department. The way they tried to saffronise Students and Education. Many more achievements are there. People of Coastal Karnataka shall not forget RSS controlled BJP.

Voters now go to elect new leaders and have to choose between the Devil , the Deep Sea and Unknown Angels .

Earlier the Congress has promised much and its misrule has paved the way for more corruption. The past 5 years of worst misrule has seen the curtailing of all basic rights of minorities by the BJP. The ripple effects are seen as the State coffers are empty . Garbage, Water and Power are major issues.
The citizen’s attention has been diverted to non issues and development is ZERO.

Our cities have been infested with rich IT, BT and Technocrats from all parts of India who have made Bangalore/Mangalore /Mysore their home. It’s now for these outsiders to vote in large numbers for the right candidate.

“Yetha Raja Thatha Praja” is the old saying.

The politician in Karnataka and in the country is wily and knows whom to woo.
The urban populace especially the middle class , youth and educated class really are busy with day to day problems and most of them even do not care to cast their vote. This makes matters easy for the corrupt and criminal minded politician who woos the slum dwellers with freebees, false promises and keeps fooling the masses.

    So what are the options?
Yes , it seems we need to wait for 5 years for more numbers in young India to emerge once and for all bring an end to the old wily Bandicoots who have been ruling this our once prosperous State/Country .

No it's now, we must therefore vote and elect the best among the worst and make sure that :

    1) Freedom of Press , Thought ,Speech , and Equality is the . Liberty & Fraternity and the Freedom which was hard fought and won in 1947 will be lost forever.
2)The youth & educated should all go and vote in large numbers for the best candidate in their ward who is for development. Criminals & those candidates who are fighting for fancy and imaginery religious causesn should nbe shunned.Only then the Halls & Walls of Vidhana Soudha will again resonate "Govt work is God's work"

One of the most important need for India today, is to make use of very intelligent and educated citizens to stand for election. When there are so many entrance exams.are taken into consideration to get seat for professional courses. Why not this has not been made mandatory to be eligible to stand for political election at any levels. Because, tomorrow they are the people who will rule the country and the decision makers. Country can develop or go down if wrong people come into power. To bring the reformation in the political field
Govt.should give advance notice/time period to announce who should be eligible for election.
Any person with criminal record or who is trying to get vote from people giving them cash or any other benefits just to get vote should be permanently disqualified. My suggestion is that
from every state and from every university top five students should be ed to be the students/candidates for Indian Institute of political science. Only those highly qualified and intelligent/smart from these universities should be made eligible to stand for any political election.Furthermore. For top posts there should be tough debating among the contestant to be the leader for the post. Unless we bring such reformation like this Indian M.P. should and will be not fit rule the state or center. Why Govt.is not thinking this seriously. If this is done 95% of Indian political problems will resolved and India will be the great developed economy in the world .We all know that Indian has the best man power and natural resources.Let the Govt.and all people think seriously on this move for the benefit of all.
    Jai Hind.
