C M Ibrahim to head Congress election strategy committee

New Delhi, Mar 23 (PTI): Former Union minister C M Ibrahim, who was once a close associate of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, was today made chairman of the Congress Election Strategy Committee for May 5 Karnataka Assembly polls.

The names of other members of the Committee were not announced by the AICC.
Ibrahim, who had been the Civil Aviation Minister in Deve Gowda Government, had walked out of the Janata Dal-S in 2005 along with Siddharamiah, now the Congress Legislature Party leader. Once a Minister in Gundu Rao Ministry, Ibrahim had rejoined the Congress in 2008.

Seeking to get its act together in right earnest, the party also announced a 56-member campaign committee and and a 44-member election manifesto committee comprising senior state leaders including former Chief Ministers and PCC Presidents and Union Ministers.

Senior leaders Veeranna Mathkatti and K R Ramesh Kumar have already been appointed chairpersons of the campaign committee and election manifesto committee. D K Shivakumar is the co-chairman of the campaign committee. The panels have been made a jumbo affair in an apparent attempt to include all factions.

Former Union Minister S M Krishna is a prominent member of the campaign committee so also Union ministers M Veerappa Moily, Mallikarjun Kharge, K Rehman Khan and K H Muniappa and AICC General Secretaries Oscar Fernandes and B K Hari Prasad.

    People,

Let me briefly discuss bribe demands from Tata for opening an airline and Rolex Watch case,,, because one person here talks about it repeatedly.

1.Mr Ratan Tata told publicly that he could not open an airline in India because due to his principle of not offering bribe as demanded by CM Ibrahim,,, he stayed away from it.

Now somebody is saying here no offense took place,,, agree no bribe was paid by Tatas but asking for bribe is itself is a crime.

Here people can either beieve Ratan Tata or CM Ibrahim,,, choice is theirs....

2.Rolex Watch episode: This happened when R Gundu Rao was CM,,,CM Ibrahim was a minister in his Cabinet,,, this guy Ibrahim went to Dubai and after coming beack from there was boasting with press people that ruler of that country gave him a Rolex watch which has a special logo(Normally Given to top spies) with which he does not need a visa to travel to that country...AK Subbaiha was Leader Of Opposition at that time and he made it a big issue because he interpreted CM Ibrahim as a spy of that country because he himself claims watch is a special one and with it he can go to that country without Visa....

Now people you judge for yourself both Tata bribe issue and Rolex Watch issue....

Conlusion:Half knowledge is more dangerous than no knowledge.....

Congress party may be under the impression that by inducting C.M.Ibrahim it can show the voters face of secularism.Unfortunately political parties can not and will teach/practive secularism in our country.Only individuals are seculars here which is the strong binding point ....and not people like Ibru of Congress.By uttering shloks one will not become secular...but a cunning secular.

DINESH ANNA....My support or against for any individual in politics does't matter. Daijiworld readers are disagreed me about CM Ibrahim and I agree for dis agree.
CM Ibrahim, one of the Minority leader who could not made use of his potential due to 'outspoken' politician .
CM Ibrahim, in occasion Central State Minister and in two occasion he was accused as ....
1)He accepted ROLEX WATCH as a Gift from Shiek of one the GCC Counties
2)He did not issue licence to TATA for Private Airline operation.
For the first foul (WRISTWATCH!)he was forced to resign (AK SUBBAIH,then Cheddy and now lungi)from the cabinet and second instances the crime is not established and not happened as well(corruptions). Our esteemed readers might known that he is sole individual who studied all religion and even quote slokas in Sanskrit.Apart from that he is a best 'WAGMI'having vast knowledge about Indian history, culture and religions. He could not beaten in public address of nature including political address.
He would be star of star attractions in Congress political rallies due to stylish and knowledgeable address.I am surprised to see some readers comments as ion of CM Ibrahim is indirectly helps BJP to gain power!!!!Congress Party is not defends on any individuals and it is like SAMUDRA.If readers has more instances of his corruption other than what I pointed, kindly reply.

Keep aside his sanskrit, kannada, religious knowledge, slokas, oratory skills etc. TATA is the most respected group in India and well known brand name across globe. CM Ibrahim did not issue license to TATA Group because TATA denied to pay him bribe. Here we need to salute TATA Group for denying his demand. But lately TATA Airlines is hitting air this year (10-15 years late) Persons like CM Ibrahim are the severe threat to PROGRESS of INDIA. Readers knows this very well and unfortunately you are still supporting him because it is your party matter.

    ISMAIL,

Tata Group chairperson had made this allegation last year. Since he is in congress, his party knows how to protect him from the scam/fraud etc. Truth is truth. But you will never accept the wrong doings of your party people.

When Gowramma caught in corruption, you said it is her ancestors property. Because of you people support, next month she murdered a person with the help of her husband.

When Lokayuktha raided Baburao Chinchansur's house, you said he accumulated wealth from his business, not from corruption.

Ismail, please grow up and don't support corrupted people just because they are in your party.

I was known a muslim friend who was bank manager in 1980s.He was also a 'wagmi' and used to quote Bhagavtgita sloks in his address and general talks. After some time he was on charge sheet by the controliing office for his 'hera peheris'in loans he made. Most of dealings were 'ghaplas' So people never believe and it is better to be cautious about such pretenders/fraudsters who quote slokas while speaking.

Ismail Ji, right said about some points..he is currently only fit for a Item Number. EVen I enjoy his speech sometimes. He should be given a role of Entertainer in the congress rally, people get bored by Poojary's same old gramaphone playing. Ibrahim's presence brings some added spice to the rally. He should head the entertainment statergy committie, anyways due to the favorable wave this time around for congress thanks to BJP, even if congress makes Appiakka as the stratergy committe head or KPCC head they will only gain from it.

Even if Congress chooses Muthalik as their lead man our friend will support it Dinesh Bhai, overnight he will change the tune just by adding one word "SANS". DO you see any other commenters(congress supportors) in the forum who has so much passion and love for congress ??, your support for BJP is nothing in front of his admirastion to congress( of course its everybody's right to support who they want) Atleast when their leaders are cought pants down they critisize their fav party, but not our friend who is just not ready to accept anything negative about the congress nor will he admit it. Whatever they say is "Vedha Vaakya" & whatever they do is "Saidhathika".
