Mangalore, Mar 26: Amidst allegations, counter-allegations and mass resignations of JD(S) leaders and members over the last few days, party state vice-president Sushil Noronha on Tuesday March 26 said that the party would not lose anything if members like M G Hegde, Nagaraj Shetty and others resign.

Addressing a press meet here, he said that internal conflict has existed in the party for the past one year, but has worsened in the last 15 days. "This is not because of the district president M B Sadashiv, but because of a few members having secret understanding with another party," he asserted.

"We have been working sincerely for the party for the past 25 years. JD(S) chief Kumaraswamy is trying his best to strengthen the party in the district, but people like M G Hegde, Nagaraj Shetty and a few others are using their powers for personal benefits, which clearly indicates that they are in close contact with another party."

"It was we who worked actively in the recent elections to the urban local bodies. Nagaraj Shetty who said that he would arrange funds for a few candidates did not do so, he could not even make any candidate contest from his area (Kodailbail), which shows how sincere he is to the party," said Noronha.

Clearly stating that Kumaraswamy did not approach M G Hegde to join his party (as claimed by Hegde), Susheel Noronha said when M G Hegde joined the party he started creating groups within the party and later when Nagaraj Shetty joined, he tried to divide the party by opening an office in Pio Mall. "Hegde who was part of other parties earlier has no scope in them now. One should confer him with ‘Party Hopping Award'," he retorted.

"It was Nagaraj Shetty who promised to stay in the party till his death when he joined, but now there seems to be no meaning to his words," he said.

Confirming that Sadanand Shetty is still the MLA candidate as he has not opted out so far, Susheel said the party is now 'purified' after the resignation of insincere workers.

However, district president M B Sadashiv was not present in the press meet to clear allegations raised against him. He had given a clarification to daijiworld on Monday March 25 and said that the party would be exposing the 'misdeeds' of M G Hegde in a couple of days.

Hyder Partipady, national committee member, corporator Azeez Kudroli, Ramakrishna Shetty, district JD(S) vice president, Gopalkrishna Attavar, Muneer Mukkachery, Srinivas Alva among others were present.

The only strong JDS existed in Mangalore under the leadership of late Mr. Antony D'Souza when he was the State Vice President of JDS.
In 1998 under his leadership JDS won 06 seats in Mangalore city corporation election (a record performance) and due to this MIss. Judith Mascarenhas became the Deputy Mayor and Shshil Noronha was nominated member of City Corporation.
    Kudos to Mr. Antony D'Souza.

As long as M B Sadashiva is the President of JDS D.K.-Unit, this party will never take root. Sadashiva is from Suliia and he has no knowledge about how to strengthen the party in Tulu speaking area of the district.

This is nothing but dividing the leaders within the party, defending Mr.M.B.Sadashiva is not justified because he is not a mass leader at all, how many people know him ? being in a single party for long doesn't mean that he is a leader, what is his achievement ? other then baking the party's presidential seat for so long , was he able to procure some adequate votes on his home town ? how many supporters do he have on his home town ? there are more sincere and real party workers who are left behind in the party who are been in the party for long and who's only aim is party without any personal interest. Probably the JDS would do better without M.B.Sadashiv.

I have a strong feeling that the way they fielded candidates after candidates for the recent ULB election shows indeed they lacked Vision and miscalculated the pulse of our District People, they were fielded for their Leaders kick and they succeeded only to eat away few precious Votes from the actual contending candidates (specially from certain communities)belongs to BJP or Congress, and indirectly they helped either BJP or Congress to Win.
Dear Susheel Sir, what better we can expect from your JD(S), Most of the disgruntled elements from Congress and BJP are filled in your Party.

If somebody joining is beneficial, then only leaving may be loss to the party.
Candidates gain and loss may also attributable to the popularity of the party in that region!
But not much impact on people!
It is time for the parties to think in voters pespective.
If any person of dubious record in the party is loss to the party and any person with credible records leaving the party then it is loss to the party!
