Delhi gang-rape accused gets IAF interview call

New Delhi, Mar 26 (IANS): One of the accused in the Delhi gang-rape has sought a tutor to prepare for an interview with the Indian Air Force (IAF), his counsel said here Tuesday.

Accused Vinay Sharma's counsel moved an application before the fast-track court hearing his case seeking that a "tutor be provided to Vinay to help him prepare" for his interview for C grade category of the IAF and that "he will serve" the force.

Sharma's counsel also pleaded for a day-to-day trial saying that a call letter for "selection test for recruitment of group 'C' civilian LDCs in Indian Air Force" had been received by the accused.

"My client has got a call letter to appear for an interview with the Indian Air Force. A tutor or guide be provided to him. The test will include general knowledge... He will have a job and will lead a good life ahead. He will earn well... He is the only breadwinner in the family... He will serve the Indian Air Force," Sharma's counsel said.

Additional Sessions Judge Yogesh Khanna asked the police to file their reply on the application and posted the matter for April 28.

why all these up-beat comments. All seem to be so angry for IAF's interview call for this rapist.
How IAF will know, this guy (same guy) is in jail for rape?
First check where the letter was forwarded - home or addressed to the jail where he is in. If it is the latter, then all these comments have some meaning.
How IAF will have information about the arrest of this guy. Now the jail authorities have to inform IAF about this particular person to be in police custody\jail for RAPE.
    IAF will then, immediately withdraw
    the inerview call.
Do not just keep on blaming BJP\Cong\JDS\KJP un-necessarily.

Being a lawer does the sharma's counsel knows that, the person who chargesheeted for crime cannot serve any Govt. office. Its really pathetic a counsel(must be a lawyer) is requesting a under trial convict to recommend for the prestigious job. who will give the conduct certificate to sharma, which is one of the requirement for the ion of any governmental job

If you look at statistics many rapes are committed by the men in green who unfortuneately are the very people entrusted with the task of defending the country and its honor. The army looks the other way on rape incidents inflicted on the enemy. Perhaps, there are'nt any enemies nowadays and hence this habbit has to be quenched. Looks like this guy is pre-qualifying himself.

Shame on them. Anyways if the interview letter was sent by mistake they should immediately withdraw that. The councel who is defending the rapist must also get punishment. What he could have done if his mother/sister/wife/daughter was raped? Would he defended the criminal??

Wow this is India, why he is given so much publicity. This guy invited the girl for and raped her twice. Now I can't imagine how IAF are giving opportunity for this criminal. There are lot of poor families who deserve to work and live. Why IAF can't afford to find some one good and sponsor there studies and train them. This way they can real suffering one get rich and earn bread for rapist. No respect for efforts of all those people who protested this act. Shame on you
