Kundapur/Udupi: Good Friday observed with solemnity

Kundapur / Udupi, Mar 29: Scores of devotees gathered to solemnly observe Good Friday at St Philip Neri Church, Basrur here on March 29.

Parish priest Fr Vishal Lobo led the church service.

Thousands of people participated in the Way of Cross procession that depicted the events marking the crucification of Jesus Christ.

Later, Fr Prakash Monteiro, Fr Vijay Lobo and Fr Vishal Lobo delivered the Good Friday message and conducted other rituals. They recalled the important events in the life of Jesus Christ and urged the faithful to follow in his path.

At Shankarapura, the Way of the Cross was held at School Grounds at 10 am.

A large number of devotees  joined the walking pilgrimage on this day of fast, prayer, penance and abstinence. Parish priest Fr Leslie D’Souza along with Fr Vincent Coelho and Br Clany,  led and organized the event.

    The Article mentions Christians as devotees. We are not devotees but disciples of Jesus Christ. We walk in the footsteps of Jesus hence should be called the disciples of Jesus Christ.

    Great solemn day presentation.
    The time is come all to realize that the scriptures are true and accept the Divine Jesus Christ is the LORD GOD.
    The God's plan to save the humanity from sins was fulfilled as our dear Lord God Jesus Christ died on the cross by saying "it is accomplished" & " Father into your hands I commit My Spirit."
    How sad many did not and few do not yet believe that "JESUS IS DIVINE AND LORD GOD."
    Lord Jesus many times said about His passion and death "for this very cause i have born and for this reason I have come into the world.."
    As Lord rightly said to the crowd 'if I tell you, you will not believe and if I ask you, you will by no means answer Me'
    Believe I AM HE about whom your scriptures testify or believe at least for the works I do'....
    Become victorious on the third day...upon Resurrection...EASTER
    AND THE WORLD CHANGED FOR BETTER.
