Quake hits off Japan


Tokyo, Mar 31 (IANS): An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted the east coast of Honshu in Japan Sunday, the US Geological Survey said.

The epicentre, with a depth of 37.10 km, was initially determined to be at 38.8676 degrees north latitude and 142.0573 degrees east longitude, Xinhua reported.
