Mangalore, Apr 1: SSLC (10th standard) students all over the state are appearing for their examinations beginning from Monday April 1. SSLC is an important stage in the lives of the teenagers, whose future can be made or marred by the results of this examination, as they can stake claim for the subjects of their choice in PUC depending upon the marks scored by them in this examination.

For enabling holding of the examinations in an orderly manner, the city commissioner, as per the proposal of the district deputy commissioner, has declared an area of 200 metres radius around these examination centres as prohibited areas. This order will be in force for the entire duration of the examinations, ie from April 1 to April 10, 2013.

Other than the candidates appearing for the examinations, assembly or five or more persons, organizing activities which help candidates to copy, distribution of answers to students, and any other illegal acvities aimed at helping students to manipulate the examinations, and conveying information through hand signs or other things, are forbidden. Carrying of deadly weapons or explosives have also been banned.

Photocopying centres are barred from functioning from 30 minutes before the beginning of the respective examinations till the the completion of the examinations in the prohibited area. Use of mobile, pager and other electronic instruments of communications has been barred.

The commissioner has clarified that the ban order will not be applicable for programmes, functions and meeting being organized by the government or as per the order of the government.

Looking at these young children, I feel sad that they are being put into the rate race of achieving 90 marks. In our days, 60% mark holders were considered as the Einsteins. God knows how many of them really became Einsteins.

Take it easy children. It is ok if you are not getting what your parents desire. Life doesn't end here. It starts here as you are turning out to be a strong individual mentally and physically to face whatever situation arises in the future. Education is not everything. Just smartly handle the situations and opportunities that come before you when you grow up, as there is always a new opportunity in every lost opportunity. Each one of you is special and smart in your own way, and don't ever lose your self confidence. There is always a bright tomorrow for everyone.

    Dear Schools and College Management,

Please rennovate schools and colleges, You guys take fees from students but students in return hardly get any facilities. Government is sleeping not even worried what our future is going through, Cant even imagine the teachers and lecturers taking any action on Schools and Colleges rennovation. Need to train the trainers.

    Dear Children,

Do the best you can and leave it to God. The future is not limited to Arts, Commerce & Science like before, there are hundreds of options awaiting you.

Don't be anxious nor discouraged. Bravely go ahead and write what you think is correct.

Each of you is a precious gift. Your parents want you no matter what the result is.
