Modi owns up PM ambition, wants to repay Mother India's debt

Gandhingar, Apr 4 (PTI): Virtually admitting his prime ministerial ambition, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today said it is the duty of every child to repay the debt he owes to "Mother India".

"Not only Modi, every child and citizen owes a debt to Mother India...it is his duty to repay the debt whenever an opportunity arises. A doctor repays his debt to Mother India when he saves lives....A teacher does so by teaching.

"Everybody has to repay this debt...I hope Mother India gives her blessings and nobody goes away without paying this debt," Modi said, in clearest indication yet that he is ready for a major role in the national political arena in the 2014 general elections, as being demanded by many in the BJP.

Modi, who was recently included in the BJP parliamentary board, the top decision-making body in the party, which many see as a prelude to his being formally nominated its prime ministerial candidate, was speaking at a book release function.

The politically loaded remarks came while he was responding to a statement by R P Gupta, an author, that "Modiji ne Gujarat ka karz chuka diya hai, Abhi Bharat Maa ka karz chukana hai".(Modi has repaid the debt of Gujarat and now is the time for him repay the debt of the country)."

Modi, who was addressing a small gathering of the members of Odisha Chamber of Commerce and Gujarat Chamber of Commerce where he released the book 'Turn Around India-Through Inclusive Governance & Team Spirit' edited by Gupta, chose not to make any comment on Rahul Gandhi's speech at a CII function in Delhi earlier in the day where the Congress Vice President spoke about inclusive development.

The Gandhi scion appeared to be referring to Modi when he talked about alienation of minorities hurting the country's growth.

"When you play the politics of alienating communities, you stop the movement of people and ideas. When that happens we all suffer.

Businesses suffer and the seeds of disharmony are sown and the dreams of our people are severely disrupted," Gandhi told industry leaders in what could be seen as an attack on Modi, perceived by many as a polarising figure.

Modi said it was Gujarat which had set the agenda of the national debate on development politics.

"Today in our country there is a debate on economic issues, a new competition of development has begun and Gujarat is proud to set the agenda in the country for a national debate on development politics," he said.

"Till now talks and discussions on subjects of economics were limited only to a few experts and sectors. But now in every university, media and industry forums there is a debate on economic issues. This is a positive sign", he said.

"Today there is a positive competition of development among different states in the country," he added.

Its the question of ruling the country, not just Gujarat. A Prime minister can only take measures to develop the country, but its the people of the country who can change. Just think ourselves how much greedy we are, to fight for money through out the life. Until public money goes to the country's economy who ever rules, nothing will change and impact!

We are reading and hearing anti-Modi tirade for the last 10 years, but this did not prevent Modi's successive victories.

When persistently asked in a meeting, whether he wants to become the PM of India, Modi replied that " baath to banane ka nahi, lekin karne ka nahi." [meaning he want to do the things, and does not aim at becoming some thing].

As per our scriptures ,"one has the power over his duties, but not over the results. So, one has to do his duties sincerely and leave the result to the God".

This is the Mantra of Modi. This Mantra will take him to the national stage and make him the Prime Minister of India.

And why this hatred started ? Because he committed genocide in Gujarat for that reason there is hatred for him ?

And what progress in Gujarat that every Modi supporter is chanting , Gujarat was already a developed state when Modi came to power . Cities like Surat /Ahmedabad were big trading centres from long back and the success of Gujarati's is mainly due to their hard working and good education. What Modi did was granting tax exemptions to big corporations , offering cheap land in process taking away land from the poor people . Also recently paying US congressman to visit him ?? What a shame ??

Well Modi on national stage or being a PM is wild wild dream that will never come true . And for Modi keep dreaming ...

    Dear Shenavaji
Once a group of men decided to go for Tirth Yatra.
Their guide explained to them that they might see some ladies taking bath and they should not get distracted at all.
When they see anything like that, they should just say HARI OM and move on.
Next day they started the yatra and one of the men in the group said HARI OM and rest of them asked-
    KIDHAR? KIDHAR?
I mean you can only 'guide' a person by 'names' or 'chants' up to an extent...If they get 'misguided'
by 'default' or due to typical mindset-you can't help !!

BJP has already coined a word " Namo " to win the imagination of the Hindu Voters all over India. Here NA-MO means first letters of NArendra MOdi, which also resembles Holy Hindu Chantings like OM-Namaha, or Namo-Namaha or Namostuthe or just Namo ( short-form of Namaskaara or Namasthe), which means in sanskrit that "My Soul salutes Your Soul".
BJP may make extensive use of this word during next years MP election to wean away soft-Hindu votes who are undecided till the last moment of Election. So Other Parties can coin similar words to counter this Word by highlighting the misdeeds of NA-MO.
(Readers of DaiJi having good imagination, can suggest the same here in this column).
