Mangalore, Apr 5: The city's Town Hall, which is usually host to a myriad kinds of programmes and celebrations, had an unusual guest on Friday April 5.

A barn owl (Tyto Alba), also called the white owl, was found in injured state on the steps of Town Hall. The bird was lying helpless, awaiting some Good Samaritan to come by.

Noticing the plight of the bird, which was quite large in size and rarely seen in the vicinity, Ragunath, cleaning contractor at Town Hall along with other workers came to its rescue.

After carefully lifting the bird, they took it to the pet care clinic located in Shaktinagar.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Raghunath said that the owl was injured on its wing. He speculated that some sharp object might have grazed it while flying.

He further said that the bird will be handed over to Pilikula Biological Park once treatment is over.
