Udupi, Apr 7: "Congress may be prepared for the upcoming Assembly elections but they have lots of internal problems. All their people want to be candidates for their constituencies. This will definitely affect them adversely and prove to be their undoing," said former chief minister and BJP national vice-president D V Sadananda Gowda.

He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a BJP workers' convention held at Shesha Shayana Hall, Hotel Kediyoor here on Sunday April 7.

On BJP's own controversies, he took an indirect jibe at B S Yeddyurappa and said, "BJP was mired in controversies before, but now everything has been sorted out. The BJP is completely changed now. There is no corruption and no illegalities. We are a good, developed party, and there is no doubt about BJP's victory in the coming polls.

"BJP has a clean image now - there is no corruption, no denotification and no partiality. We are determined to fight the elections unitedly," he added.

Commenting on the opposition, he said, "Congress and JD(S) are getting weaker, and the worst part is that they are targetting BJP and speaking bad about it. Putting down BJP to show themselves as better is not the right approach in politics. They should work hard and prove their worth to the people and not talk about us.

"BJP on the other hand is highly united. We never put others down. We have development to show to the people. We will work hard and with the support of party workers we will definitely win," he said.

"Karnataka is in third place in terms of development. We will render more social service and ensure justice to people," he said.

When mediapersons asked him about exodus of several leaders from the party, he said, "It is true that BJP leaders are leaving the party, but ours is a big party and we have people who have served with dedication from many years. We are strong. Our decision on selecting candidates was unanimous, unlike Congress which is facing a lot of problems. It will prove them costly."

During the stage programme too DVS reiterated the above statements and emphasized that BJP is rejuvenated and will definitely win the elections.

MLA Raghupati Bhat who seemed to be still nursing the injury caused due to the leakage of the sleaze CD recently, said that Congress is known for doing drama and while it used the infamous Malpe rave party as an election issue previously, it has now resorted to use the CD issue.

"They (Congress) have now interfered with my personal life and are making an election issue out of it," he said.

He, however, clarified, "I am not saying that JD(S) or Congress have a hand in the CD issue. It was a conspiracy by some of my rivals but the political parties are taking undue advantage of it. They should not make it an election issue."

On BJP's candidate Sudhakar Shetty, he said, "Sudhakar Shetty's name was recommended by me - he is my candidate and if he wins, it means I have won."

He urged the workers to do their maximum so that those who think he has lost would be taught a lesson by BJP's win.

Sudhakar shetty, Udayakumar Shetty, Upendra Nayak, Vilas Nayak, Yashpal Suvarna and others were present.

I had some respect for DVS earlier. Now it is all gone. There is no desire to bring better governance. He always supported bhajrangi attrocity. After election All DK BJP sitting MLA's can join Bhajrang to keep them busy. Now police may not support them since they are not ruling!!!

"YES" OF COURSE BJP IS A CHANGED PARTY AND KEEPS ON CHANGING FROM TIME TO TIME & WHENEVER THERE IS OPPRTUNITY FOR CM CHAIR.
WHY SADDU CANNOT PROVE ALLEGATIONS ON BSY ?
NO BODY WILL BELIEVE SIMPLY IF HE SAY UNLESS THERE IS CLEAT CUT ACTIONS. IT IS NONE OF HIS BUSSINESS TO COMMENT ON CONGRESS WHEN HIS OWN PARTY IS IN SQUABBLES.

Changed party??!! ...i dont think so 1. Farmers of Karnataka will never forgive a party which ordered killing/shooting of farmers in 2008 when they were demanding the release of fertilizers in 2008. 2. Minorities will not forgive BJP because its henchmen destroyed the pavitra Garba Graha of Churches, beat up and file false cases against minorities, 3. Students and youngsters will not forgive them because they were subject to mindless assault and (im)moral policing by its henhmen i.e. Bajrang Dal, Ram Sena, HJV etc. 4. Youth will not forgive because this govt was'nt able to create employment in KA unlike its Gujarat counterparts. 5. Their MLA's and Ministers were enjoying in resorts and rave parties while people had to grapple with power cut , lack of water, law & order, bad roads etc.

The analysis of all so far comments appears that BJP will never get elected. Based on public opinion, it is honest advise to them not to waste money on election. Please do not 'Day Dream'. You will never make it. There is no 'Trial and Error' method in politics, which please note.

You agree or not, there are some noticeable development work happened in Udupi in last 5 years. Mainly, the roads in city are really good now. Bad governance spoilt everything for BJP, and they must have realised the effect of this in recent election. Now, can it be a lesson for future government? Lets hope for that.

Most popular and ambitious policy BJP Karnataka embarked was "poverty elivation" of the people. It started the implementation with full spirit and as a first step it elivated the poverty of its MLAs,Ministers,RSS bosses completely.
If people give a second chance to rule Karnataka I am sure they will elivate the poverty of the entire people of the state. It is up the people to believe these people .....

In the last 5 years, BJP undergone huge churning and the result is destabilising & corrupt elements went out. The media was scrutinising every moment during BJP rule and kept pointing out their mistakes. Biased media, Santhosh Hegde, Bharadwaj, CBI, JD-S did their best to purify BJP and today the BJP stands tallest. Congress never undergoes any form of scrutiny, plus their complacence as if they have already won Karnataka are the weakness of Cong party. Most of mainstream media is stage managed by Cong. HQ and everyone including Barkha Dutts, Arnabs, Rahul Kanwals, N Rams, etc are slaves of the dynasty and doing their best to propagate against BJP. Yes, everything goes well for BJP. Even if they will take the opposition place this time, it will become a good base for the future. Congress, as usual falters when they get opportunities. See the UPA rule of last 8 years, there has been no proactive governance. Everyday passing itself is a nightmare for UPA.

DVS saying things like he said above!! It sounds like a greenhorn in politics speaking - giving lame excuses for the poor show of BJP in Karnataka and belittling other political parties for what is happening in his party. Good that he was removed as CM by Yeddy.
And Mr. Bhat should know all politicians should have good moral character. Although many other ministers lack that, people can not visually see what all things they are doing. Here they can watch and that is not good. Children will question "Is he our MLA\ MINISTER?" Can we follow in his foot-steps?
    My God, what to reply!!!
I think it is time BJP talked only about them- their mistakes, what steps they have taken to correct them and please do not keep on saying now BJP in Karnataka is cleansed!!!
There are still who usurped poor people's housing scheme land still - i think still investigations are going on that and there are some others. DVS himself has been pulled up by Renukacharya as per Media reports!!!
And see who is talking now about "Clean" image!!
Many of us thought it was a welcome change when BJP won but my God...such change should not take place in future.

Why DVS didn't continued saying we will have more pub attacks & home stay attacks in Mangalore & Udupi if they win this election. Then we will have more Reve parties in St Marys Island and all the cows will be saved in Mangalore & Ududpi. etc... These politicians irrespective fo their party are so humble and down to earth and they will make all the promises. Once the election is over and result is d then they will dissappear suddenly leaving all their promises left behind.
Except a few exceptions all the politicians are in the same group.
Once the election is done rest 4.5 years they will be busy in making money foe their entire life and again for the nextr election they will come to thevoters begging for votes with the some more new promiese. We citizen vote for them and they will loot our tax payed money for their lavish lifestyle and roam in imported SUV vehicles or flights / choppers.
