Mangalore: Manager's murder at Valencia an act of revenge?

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Updated

Mangalore, Apr 8: The brutal murder of Prashanth alias Pachu on the night of Sunday April 7 is said to be an act of revenge.

Soon after the murder, at around 1 am, a Kannada news channel reportedly received a call from a certain Vicky Shetty from Dubai, claiming responsibility for the murder.

It is learnt that Vicky Shetty told the channel that Prashanth was killed in revenge for the murder of Bejai Raja, who was hacked to death near Falnir in December 2012.

Prashanth was murdered by a gang of 7-8 persons near Mangala Bar at Valencia at around 11.45 pm. He was employed as a manager in Sri Adhinatheshwara Roadlines, a city-based transport firm.

On inspecting the crime spot, the police recovered two bullets near the car. It is surmised that Prashanth was shot at on his hand first before being murdered with other weapons.

Mangalore, Apr 8: A manager of a city-based firm was bludgeoned to death by a group of assailants late night on Sunday April 7 at Valencia here.

The deceased is Prashanth alias Pachu, manager of Sri Adhinatheshwara Roadlines. He was a bachelor in his early thirties. He was the son of Sundar, and resident of Marakada, Kunjathbail.

The incident took place near Mangala Bar at around 11.45 pm.

Sources said that he was attacked by a group of around 7 to 8 persons who came armed with sharp weapons.

Prashanth's body was found a little distance away from where his car, a Fortuner, was parked. The car was also damaged, with its window panes smashed. Blood stains were also found in the car.

It is suspected that the assailants might have first attacked him while he was inside the car. He might have then got out in a bid to escape, and was chased and hacked to death a little distance away. The car keys were found near the body.

The attackers fled the spot soon after committing the crime.

The body was shifted to Wenlock for post-mortem.

Pandeshwar police rushed to the spot and investigations are on.

Mumbai was voted the most safe Indian city in 2012. This is because of the determined efforts of the citizens and police. In Mangalore, the police are only concerned with making money and flattering politicians. Gangs are therefore thriving and the common man is left unprotected. No wonder, communal gangs are on the rise

The gang rehabilitation program, created by Venezuelan rum brand Santa Teresa, is being rolled out to the most dangerous districts of Caracas. In its first five years of operation in a place called Revenga, Santa Teresa’s home county, the project saw crime by 40% and murders reduce by 65% from 77 per 100,000 inhabitants in 2003 to 27 in 2008.
Gang members are recruited for a two-year period of rehabilitation, with the aim of “eradicating delinquency without violence”. Recruits to the project undergo programs of labour, education, rugby training and community service, before enrolling on classes that range from cooking and house building, to working for the distillery.

Bejai Raja killed by ravi poojaris gang ..and now "pachu" killed by person called "vicky shetty" (as one of kannada tv channel reported). This is the clear indication of gang war between two. Only encounter of one or two anti elements will solve these kind of acts.. police should immediately step in to take necessary actions on culprits with immediate affect.

Some people are now gone underground..due to heavy crack-down..some changed there profession..!! If have good clout in society..than there is chance of survival..otherwise..such things will happen..at any time. What will now happen to vehicle 'Fortuner'...????? Inspite of all these incidents, some people in this forum still say, "we have the best government", "we have the best community" and we are the best, where else in the world will you find mangalore?

The rogue elements, are now used to a easy life. They have been nurtured by communal/fanatical groups in all religions. They do not want to work now to earn their living, they look for suparis and are happy with that.

What morality do we really have? What value do we hold for human life, which is not of my liking?

We have to reap the fruits of our labor.

I agree with Prashanth shetty , Mangalore / dubai.

After the 26/11, 2008 attack in Bombay, the cops in Bombay have become more aggressive and started eliminating the gangsters. Today there is less crime in Bombay and some have moved to Mangalore too.

Unless the police are given free hand, the situation may not improve, Unfortunately poliitical, land mafia, few religious backed leaders too supporting these gangsters for the selfish end.

If we sow good seeds, one can reap good fruits. This is the result of what sowed in Mangalore. Wish cops like earlier IPS office Mr. Rao will come back and take tough stand. We require these forces to be eliminated forever from this land.

@Harish Have you even been to Bombay? I havent heard crimes like these in the past one month in Mumbai but in Mangalore, Yes.

Its about time the city steps up security. CCTVs need to be installed all over. How can one expect to be safe in their own home, if criminals like these, incl those who beat up youth, are allowed to move freely.
Action must be taken. Politicians, you want our vote?
