Fujairah, Apr 9: GMC hospital, Fujairah recently hosted a grand doctor’s meet in the hospital campus at Fujairah wherein leading medical experts were invited to participate in the seminar on 'updates in medicine'.
Dr Manvir Singh Walia, medical director - operations, Healthcare presided over the special event.
Leading experts from GMC Hospital, Fujairah like Dr Mohammed Zakeer Ahmed specialist a, Ortho delivered a special talk on “Arthroscope: Principles and its role in medicine”. Dr PK Menon, director administration and institutional research, Gulf Medical University Ajman,briefed about the concept of “Molecular Diagnostics: Its role in Human Disease Detection and Prognostication”.
Dr PK Lamba, specialist and lecturer, ophthalmology, GMC Hospital, Ajman lectured on 'Role of General Physicians in Diabetic Retinopathy and Glaucoma'. ENT Surgeon Specialist Dr Pramod Kumar A Muntode spoke on “Emergencies in ENT” and Dr Mitra Meshki Samiee, MD – Obstetrics and Gynecology, GMC Hospital, Fujairah delivered a talk on “Abnormal Uterine Bleeding”.
All the above leading experts were honored with special mementos by Dr Manvir Singh Walia, medical director, operations and healthcare. To recognise and appreciate the invaluable support extended by doctors in the region and their association with GMC Hospital, Fujairah, a special raffle draw was conducted.
The grand prize for the evening was a fully paid trip to Singapore. Later, Dr Sathyanarayanan, chief of medical staff GMC Hospital, Fujairah and Dr Manvir Singh Walia gave away special prizes to various winners of the raffle draw held during the event.
The marketing team of GMC hospitals played an important role in inviting the doctors, organizing the social event and a networking dinner for all the invitees and their families.
GMC Hospital, Ajman, Body & soul health club and spa, Ajman, the terrace restaurant, Zo &Mo Opticals were the main sponsors, while Bayer Healthcare, Janssen Cilag, Swiss Arabian Perfumes, Vitabiotics, Al Ain Diary and Americana Cakes were the co-sponsors of the grand event.
A total of 350 invitees out of which 175 doctors, medics participated in the grand event which was accredited by the Ministry of Health for 5 CME hours.
