Modi starts his Kolkata visit on holy note

Kolkata, Apr 9 (IANS): Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday started his day here by visiting Dakshineswar Kali Temple and Belur Math.

Modi, who will address around 800 representatives from the business community, has been invited by the MCC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Indian Chamber of Commerce and Bharat Chamber of Commerce.

"Blessed with the darshan of Maa Kali at Dakhineshwar. I apologised to her for coming after a long time," he said on Twitter.

"Got the opportunity to visit Ganga Maa where Swami Vivekananda used to take bath. Experienced an inner joy being there," he said.

At Belur Math, headquarters Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Modi meditated for some time.

"On my request, the organisers let me spend some time alone in the room where Swami Vivekananda meditated. The experience was beyond words," he said.

"I am glad to have had these experiences in the 150th birth anniversary year of Swami Vivekananda. Memorable day," he added.

Modi addressed the annual general meeting of FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) on Monday in Delhi.
