Stany Mendonca, poplularly known as Stan among his fans delighted music enthusiasts with his melodious voice at St Agnes Special School grounds on April 14.
 
The Stan Nite, the sixth of its kind, was organized in collaboration with Alfred Benis and Hope Charitable Trust to help underprivileged children with their education needs.

Zeena Pereira, Joseph Mathias, Reshma Gonsalves, Ashvija Mendonca, Sonal Mendonca, Denzil Pereira, Rony Gonsalves, and Melric Monteiro were part of the amazing troupe that showcased around 15 songs. 
 
Songs like 'Ashavadi', 'Shikgo Putha', 'Catherine', 'Yego Pisolya', 'Atyachar', 'Anathaso Vilap' (song written on Bajpe air crash tragedy), 'Mog Mulyar Kithem' among others were presented by the troupe which enthralled the audience.
 
'Nach Sobhann' dancers adorned the stage with their moves to the groovy music.
 
The audience was tickled by an array of delightful jokes performed by the ‘Me-Mo-Ri’ team. The music for the event was led by Joswin Pinto, Bendore.
 
Prior to the musical evening, a formal stage programme was held where Fr Antony Serrao, parish priest of Bendore Church presided while other guests like Naveen Monteiro, managing trustee of Hope Charitable trust, Alfred Benis, organizer, Roy Castelino, Joseph Mathias, Marian D’Souza, Anil Fermai shared the dais.
 
Fr Antony Serrao in his presidential address lauded the tremendous service rendered by Stany Mendonca to the Konkani community in spite of residing in the UK. "There was a time when children used to learn Konkani from their parents but the now the situation has come wherein children have to be taught Konkani in their school. We elders should play an important role in encouraging youngsters to learn our mother tongue, without which the language will not have a future," he said, lauding all the artistes who were part of the programme.
 
‘Ashavadi’, Mendonca’s third music album was released on the occasion by Basti Vaman Shenoy, president of World Konkani Center along with other dignitaries. The album comprises a dozen self-composed songs based on current issues.
 
Speaking after releasing the CD, Basti Vaman Shenoy lauded and congratulated Stany Mendonca on his new album and said that he was happy to be a part of the programme.
 
"The Musical Nite was an effort to entertain music fans and most importantly it has been organized for a good cause, that is to help underprivileged children with their education needs," he lauded.
 
In his message, he asked people to try and promote the Konkani language in whichever part of the world they are. "If any Konkani person excels in any field, it brings good name to the community," said Vaman Shenoy, wishing good luck to Stany Mendonca in all his endeavors.
 
Roy Castelino, Marian D’Souza and Anil Fermai also spoke on the occasion. They showered praises on Stany Mendonca for his music talent and service rendered to the Konkani community.
 
On the occasion, Alfred Benis was honored for his immense service to Konkani community.
