Dubai: Ashuntha's collection of short stories to release on Apr 19

Dubai, Apr 15: A P Monteiro’s ‘Kadryaso Kanto’, a collection of Konkani short stories, will be released on April 19 here.

‘Kadryaso Kanto’ is scheduled to be released at the annual day celebration of Moodbidri Varado Catholic Association (MVCA) to be held on the above date.

About the author: This book is authored by Ashuntha Pereira Monteiro, also known as Ashuntha Pereira Gantalkatte or just A P Monteiro. She is a well-known young writer, who has authored several books and articles in Konkani, Kannada, English and Tulu languages. She has written and staged two Konkani plays, ‘Canadaso Comblo,’ and ‘Konnachem Aikonchem?’ ‘Bessaun Anim Her Kotha’ was her first collection of short stories released in 2005. She has written over 50 short stories, 25 poems, and a number of other articles, which were published in different Konkani periodicals and websites.
In 1999, she won the first place in public speaking competition at Mangalore Diocese level. One of her stories, ‘Parath Seere (Old Sari)’was picked for an award by Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy in 2001.

‘Kadryaso Kanto’ will be available for sale online through www.ebay.in and couriered anywhere in India.

This will be the first of its kind ebook in Konkani to be made available on http://pothi.com.

    Congratulations Asuntha on releasing your new book. It is not easy to publish a konkani book now a days and wish you all the best.

    Look out for planned release of stories written by AT Lobo scripted books. We need good support for Konkani books and help from all Konkani speaking families by buying a copy of the Konkani language books. It is difficult to sell 1000 copies of Konkani book now a days.

    Please help by buying a story book for each family.
