Kuwait: Buntara Sangha celebrates Ugadi

Kuwait, Apr 15: Buntara Sangha – Kuwait recently celebrated Ugadi program at Indian community School Khaitan, in a spectacular fashion, witnessed by a large number of members and their families.

The venue was beautifully decorated with flowers Rangoli and Diyas by the Buntara Sangha PR committee members led by Sujaya Shetty. Satyanarayan Pooja marked an auspicious beginning to the day’s activity. This was followed by Haldi Kumkum ceremony for married couples, led by Shalini Yadunath Alva and Shakila Shetty, providing a festive ambience to the audience.

Cultural extravaganza began later in the afternoon with prayer song by the Koota members, followed by lighting of lamp by the managing committee.

President Umesh Shetty Adve, extended a warm welcome and thanked the Kuwait Bunts for their over whelming support to the event. Managing committee of 2012 was felicitated by the 2013 managing committee for their outstanding performance. Member’s kids were honored for their academic excellence in 10th and 12th grade during March 2012 examinations.
        
The audiences were treated to a sequence of refined local talent performances that comprised of singing, dancing comedy skit and magic show. Highlight of the event was a scintillating fashion show that was a fusion of culture, dance, traditional and western round. Bunts kids awed the audiences with their dancing skills and super model attitude.

Mr & Mrs Bunts contest, the brain child of cultural secretary Shalini Yadunath Alva and organized first time in Kuwait received great appreciation and applause from the audience.  Jyothi Colaco and Prashant Karivellur, eminent personalities in Kuwait cultural scene, graced the event as judges for the Mr & Mrs Bunts Contest.  Mr Manoj & Mrs Smitha Shetty were declared the Mr & Mrs Bunts Kuwait 2013 and crowned by the Bunts Sangha president Umesh Shetty and vice president Shankar Shetty.  All participants for the Mr & Mrs Bunts competition and fashion show received gifts from the Sangha.

Ugadi 2013 organized under the leadership of president Umesh Shetty and conceptualized and directed by culture secretary Shalini Alva was a huge success. It clearly depicted meticulous planning and dedicated efforts by the managing and sub-committee members and volunteers.
 
General secretary Vishwanath Shetty proposed the vote of thanks to the donors, supporters and audience. The program was beautifully compered by Jayasheel Shetty and Ashwita Shetty who were very interactive with the audiences.
 
Sumptuous lunch for the event was served by Avanti Restaurant, stage setting coordinated by Sudhakar Shetty Pangala, photography by Prashanth Shetty, videography by Alan, sound and lighting by Illumination Anand D’souza.

Professional hair style for the event by Diva Ladies Salon. Logistics support to the event was provided by Gokuldas Bhatt of Sagar Travels, Philip Mathew and Sudarshan Shetty. Buntara Sangha thanked all its members, donors and well wishers for their support.

The beautiful evening came to an end with National Anthem.
