Mangalore, Apr 17: Under the joint aegis of Malani Talkies and Alliance Francaise De Mangalore for Indo French Language and Cultural Centre will jointly host ‘Mangalore Film Festival’ from morning to evening on Sunday April 21. The festival is being organized to celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema. This was stated by cine director, Sandeep Malani.
Addressing a press conference in the city on Monday April 15, Malani recalled that the first movie of the country, ‘Raja Harishchandra’, had been released on this day.
“While Kannada filmdom has completed 80 years of existence, it has been 60 years since the first Konkani film was produced. Tulu cinema has a history of 40 years. Malani Talkies will be organizing this festival to commemorate all these happy events. Film stars will take part in the festival, Malani added.
He explained that films like award-winning , ‘Jo Jo Lali’, which was directed by him, ‘Jan Leva 555’, as well as Tulu, Konkani, Beary, and a few Kannada films will be screened at the festival.
Coordinator for Alliance Francaise De Mangalore, Larkins D’Souza, and Silver Malani were present at the press conference.
