Bantwal: Shop, godown, clinic gutted in fire, loss estimated at Rs 20 lac

Bantwal, Apr 20: Fire broke out in a shop, a godown and a clinic located at Kaikamba, B C Road here at around 1 pm on Saturday April 20.

The reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained.

The loss is estimated to be around Rs 20 lac.

Sapna Traders, a cushion shop, a godown belonging to Ashraf Sajipa and Sanjeeva Clinic were gutted in the fire.

Two fire engines from Mangalore and one from Bantwal arrived at the spot and after half an hour of continuous operation, the blaze was put off.

Bantwal town police too arrived at the spot.

It is said that the operation was delayed as people gathered in large numbers to see the fire and the police and the fire personnel had a tough time controlling them.
