Mangalore Akashvani bags Rajbhasha Trophy

Mangalore, Apr 21: All India Radio (AIR), Mangalore has bagged Rajbhasha Trophy 2011 for best Hindi language implemented in their office. The function was held at National Agricultural Science Centre Complex, New Delhi on April 17. The trophy was received by G Rameshchandran, deputy director (E), AIR, Mangalore.

The award was given region-wise on all-India basis.

Rajbhasha wing in Akashvani basically performs the activities related to publicity, propagation and use of official language Hindi. It promotes the maximum use of Hindi in day-to-day office work. AIR, Mangalore has reached annual targets of training in Hindi language, Hindi typing/stenography, translation work of official material, and propagation of official language in Hindi.

Akashvani Annual Awards were instituted in 1974 with a view to promote professional excellence and to bring out the best from the staff working at various radio stations and installations.

The Awards are given for outstanding radio play, documentaries, musical production, innovative programmes on family welfare, farm and home, apart from Rajabhasha Trophy, Dr Rajendra Kumar Talib Award, K L Sharma Award, Lassa Kaul Award, Best Trainer, Best Training Institute, Best Regional News Unit and Best News Editor of the year.

G Ramesh Chandran appreciated Malati Bhat and other staff members for their contribution.
