Congress releases 'Vision Udupi-2025' ahead of Assembly polls

Udupi, Apr 22: The Congress party on Monday April 22 released its new booklet on development in Udupi - after 12 years - a booklet called ‘Vision Udupi–2025’.

'Vision Udupi–2025' in essence is the manifesto of the Udupi Congress, about development plans which Congress promises to undertake if it comes to power. The party declared that this particular booklet will be distributed door-to-door in Udupi constituency.

Pramod Madhwaraj, president, block Congress, told the media that Udupi will be a model district by 2025. The vision involves all the aspects of Udupi including drinking water deficiency. “The party is planning to provide drinking water 24x7 for 365 days.

Hi-tech bridge and roads will be constructed, tourism will be encouraged, fishing industry will be facilitated, education and health will be prioritized so also sports. Self-reliant industry agriculture will be uplifted.”

He also added that the electric terminals situated in Udupi should fulfill local needs rather than that of other districts. “Congress will do the needful for implementing this in the district. There will be enough substations and transformers formed to reach electricity everywhere.”

“A super specialty hospital will be constructed at a cost of Rs 500 crore. Better drainage facility will be provided to Manipal, Parkala, Malpe Kalyanpura, Ambagilu, and Biloor. The solid waste management system will be sophisticated. BPO and IT companies will be brought to the district to provide maximum job opportunity to the youth. Revenue and public issues will be sorted out especially issues like transfer, registration and title deeds etc.,” said Madhwaraj.

“The booklet talks about each and every field of life. Krishna Hegde, MLA from Mumbai is also an observer. As per the order of A K Anthony he will come here and next week Sonia Gandhi will be visiting Dakshina Kannada and Chikmagalur. We have young candidates here and expect 100 percent victory. I will be reporting the day-to-day activities of the district to the All India Congress committee. I have gone through all the problems faced by the district. Corruption should be weeded out,” he added.

Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje, president, Mahila Congress, Yathish Karkera, president,Youth Congress, Divakar Kunder, member, zilla panchayat, Pratab Hegde, and Laxman Shenoy were also present.

THis is how a democratic parties go for election, You give your master plan for development by written then public will ask you about that in next election. Its really pathetic to fool people with 1 rupee rice and Laptops, that doesnt improve the poor peoples standard of living. By infrastructure development poor as well as rich peoples standard of living will improve.     Nice to know about the release of the Vision Udupi 2025 and also the projected plans thereof.You have to clearly deffernciate the short term plans and long term plans.What you do immediately for the people to meet their urgent needs is very importatnt and there should not be any compromise on implementation.The work assigned to contractors to be ensured with quality and timely completion.Hope,Udupi will get back its glorious days under your able ledership and we all wish you every success in your plans Thanq.

    Why a 500 crore multi speciality hospital when KMC Manipal is only 6 Kms away??? I think this plan is to exhume public funds & reel off money for devious deeds....Udupi is far advanced & better off now than the statistics of Congress party mentions

If this vision is implemented...you may dislike but will help 99.99% people of Udupi and surrounding areas. Everyone knows the ability of opposition above! The way town planning functioned for past few years is enough evidence!! Being positive and optimistic towards good cause and bright vision is good for mankind.     Dear Pramod Madhwaraj, I wish your dream would come true one day but for your vision 2025, I have alternative concrete plan to implement the same. I.e. No need to construct Hi-tech Bridge and roads instead please press your UPA Government to release the funds to complete the current 4 lane NH66 reconstruction works. In Udupi region no need to give advertisement for tourism since this is the historical place and even new born child too know the importance of Udupi place famously called as “City of Temples” but please concentrate on infrastructure rather. We need few more Jetty or Quay Walls or Mini Port to facilitate fishing industry in our region which will remain in your dream only. Udupi and Manipal are already under World Map for Education and Health Sectors. Can you press for Cricket Stadium in Udupi region? No need to uplift the agriculture sectors in our region but only they need is Insurance coverage for their cultivation which may get spoiled due to flood situation or scarcity of water. Instead you may consult Oscar since he had “similar dream vision” few decades ago too!!

Even though the congress were in power for so many years in udupi what development did they do, look at BJP development work good roads, good parks, lot of parking spaces & so many other good development work. The congress can never match the development work of BJP, so congress leaders stop fooling your general public.

    Along with development what our Country needs is :
    1. Character reformation, we have more School/colleges but character is diminishing! Crime, rapes and injustices are increasing!
    2. Cleanliness: We have more Doctors but health of the people is deteriorating! Need environment protection.
    3. Political reformation: We have so many parties but values and ethics are diminishing!
    4. Justice delivery systems: As our population is raising, so as cases in courts! Justice delivery system should be speedily reformed to to give quick justice.
    5. Economic development together with upliftment of poor: Real development of the nation is poverty alleviation and reduction of Rich and poor Gap.
    Strangely in our country economic development has widened rich poor gap.

It has done everything in last 5 years which has been not done in past 65 years in karnataka.For example watching blue film in vidhana saudha, keeping illegal relationships, 2 Deputy CM for the first time of karnataka history, Operation Kamala, Resort politics,etc...and of course last month former Udupi Bjp Mla showed his tremendous improvement throgh video:):) what a vision:)

    It look like an ambitious plan. However if all the people adhere to their promises and work sincerely for the district - indeed all the promises will be fulfilled. The need of the day is dedication and sincerity of purpose. These should not remain as ELECTION ASSURANCES but ELECTION REALITIES.     Very vague plan, I feel this is a ploy for votes. Where will the bridges be built? What is a "sophisticated" waste management systes. How will you make electricity reliable, where will you build the substations and where will the money to pay for these facilities come from?

    All these questions remain unanswered, but must be answered.

    very good vision, if this comes to realty udupi will be ahead of bangalore, and i don't think even state congress will let you guys do the job....... 2nd - why dint oscar fernadies and other experience past /present on going congress leaders thought about this idea in the past 20 years! why all of sudden........... ? is this real commitment or just joke as vote bank??? how about corrouption in government department taking money for moving the file in udupi? who is responsible?
