Mangalore, Apr 23: On Monday April 22, buses stayed off Ullal roads in protest against the group clashes and damage caused to buses at Mogaveerapatna beach Ullal on Sunday, in tune with a decision taken to this effect by bus employees.
In the meanwhile, Ganesh from Mastikatte, as well as Latif and Mustafa from Mukkacheri, who were arrested in connection with the clashes, were produced in the court. In the clashes which erupted after a car accidently hit a woman at Ullal beach on Sunday, ending with injuries to about six persons and damage to two buses, miscreants had taken advantage of the situation and damaged buses by hurling stones at them.
Central Reserve Police Force personnel, who are camping in the district for helping the administration in peaceful holding of the assembly poll, provided security at Ullal. Bus stands wore a deserted look. Movement of people was sparse. People who wanted to go to Someshwar and Ullal faced problems. Shops and establishments in Ullal however, functioned normally.
The policemen are on the lookout for other miscreants involved with the disturbances.
