Dubai: Aliasgar Bohari honored as IT wizard at CIO awards

Dubai, Apr 24: Aliasgar Bohari, director - IT of Zulekha Hospital honored among the top 50 IT wizards in the region at CNME’s annual CIO 50 awards and forum event at The Address Hotel, Marina, in Dubai. 

The CIO award ceremony hosted by CNME recognizes the head decision maker of 50 organizations who have shown innovation, intelligence and intuition in the technology domain over the past 12 months.

These awards aim at rewarding the organizations under the computerization of IT and its effect as a business enabler, the challenge of mobility and IT expenditure.

Among all the top nominees Aliasgar Bohari IT head of Zulekha Hospitals was honored in the event.

Aliasgar Bohari has been instrumental in revolutionary management of design, development, implementation, and support of information systems in Zulekha Healthcare Group.

A self-confessed networking wizard, Aliasgar is by qualification an industrial electronics engineer who did his specialization in Hardware and Networking. Having spent most of his professional career spanning over 13 years in information & communication technology, Aliasgar is a dynamic innovator who strives continuously to improve the contribution of IT in healthcare from the usual supportive role to an operational business tool.

A hands-on professional, he was instrumental in the 24-month implementation from the onset at both multi-specialty hospitals in Dubai and Sharjah. This HMIS module was soon augmented with access for the four medical centers thereby completely integrating the Zulekha Healthcare Group in a single seamless network.

On receiving this award Aliasgar said he was very happy to receive such an appreciation and thanked all his well wishers.

The awards were followed with the announcement launch of the new CIO Council, an exclusive online platform for the region’s CIOs to connect and collaborate on IT challenges, and CPI Analytics.

CPI’s new research venture which will target local resources to gain vital local data for the area, something currently unavailable in the Middle East.

Zulekha Healthcare Group is one of the first groups to have received the largest International Quality accreditation for both their group hospitals in 2007. Zulekha Hospital (Dubai and Sharjah) were accorded accreditation for their high quality healthcare services from Joint Commission International (JCI), USA. Furthermore, Zulekha Medical Centre (Dubai) also got the JCI accreditation in January 2009 making it the first private multi-specialty medical centre in the whole of UAE to acquire this feat for their quality care.
