Charles Gomes – Director M&S George; Timothy - Director Mentoring; Rufus Monteiro - Director Events

KE, Bangalore was started in 2008 by FKCA in collaboration with KE Dubai to promote entrepreneurship among individuals hailing from the Kanara region. With Chapters in Dubai and Bangalore, this forum currently has over 250 members and collaborations with like-minded organizations such as Rachana in Mangalore, Dimensions and CCCI in Mumbai, has built a network of around 1000 Entrepreneurs and Professionals from the Kanara region.

Mark D’souza is a chartered accountant in Bangalore, practicing for over 25 years, a successful professional, speaker and a teacher. He is also a founder member and a director of KE, Bangalore since its inception and has been main pillar of the forum. He is also the chairman of Entreprenet 2014, a global convention which will be held in Bangalore on January 31 and February 1, 2014. Entreprenet 2014 is an initiative of KE Global and Dimensions, Mumbai.

New president Mark D’Souza, in his address to the members stated that the active members are the backbone for the growth of an organization and his target would be to double the existing membership. He further added, “Today, KE has a talent pool and experts in various fields and it is time to give back. We should reach out especially to the small and medium businessmen and help them to face the challenges in managing their ventures”. He also said that we should mentor and help youngsters who are planning to start business. Be a guiding force for them. This is the mission of KE, he commented.

Adrian D’Souza and Clarence Pereira were elected unanimously as director finance and director membership respectively for another term. Charles Gomes, George Timothy and Rufus Monteiro continue as director marketing and sponsorship, director mentoring and director events respectively.

Former president Robinson D’Souza welcomed the gathering and thanked everyone for the support.

As KE’s endeavor to add value to the members and share knowledge, there was talk on “Resonant Leadership” by Ivy Saldanha, director of human resources and administration of Actuant India.

“For those bold enough to lead in this age of uncertainty challenges are immense. Great leaders move us. Resonant leaders, moving people powerfully, passionately and purposefully. They are finding opportunities with challenges creating hope in the face of despair. And they do so while managing the inevitable sacrifices inherent in their roles,” she said.

“Resonant leaders give themselves in the service of cause, but they also care for themselves, engaging in renewal, so that they can sustain resonance over time. Great leaders are resonant leaders and they get results. Great leaders build resonant leadership with those around them. They understand emotional intelligence is the key to success and build relationship with the others,” she stated.

“These resonant leaders, inspiring their organizations and communities to help to reach dreams. They are awake, aware and attuned to themselves, others and to the world around them. They commit to their beliefs, stand strong in their values and live full and passionate lives,” she further added.

Joe Lobo thanked the gathering. Vivon Pinto compered the programme.
