Bangalore, Apr 28: A pleasant mix of suspense and comedy enacted brilliantly by the Daiji Dubai artistes ensured that the Konkani drama ‘Aami Nathlyaa Vellar’ captured the attention of Mangaloreans in Bangalore on Saturday April 27 at St Joseph’s High School auditorium.

The packed crowd enjoyed every bit of the action, especially the final court scene. With very fine stage settings the action in the middle was captured by veteran actor-cum-director Dayan D’Souza who was brilliant in his role of the school teacher. Walter Nandalike rendered a powerful performance as Commander Herman along with Alphonse D'Souza who played the role of the villain with elan.  Asha Correa as the leading lady yet again showed her class as a very fine star. The comic relief was provided by Godwin Castelino.

Others in the play included Cynthia Pinto, Lavina Fernandes, Alwyn Pinto, Ramcy Fernandes, Sandeep D’Souza, Nanu Marol,  Kumar and young Regan Fernandes.

Veteran musicians Ketan D’Souza and Arun D’Almeida were exceptional with their musical support.  Prasad Rai provided the sound and lighting that enhanced the story narration, while B K Gangadhar of Porlu Arts (Kudla) handled the sets expertly.

It was yet another feather in the cap for vetran organizer Denzil Fernandes who has now added Bangalore in his list of international destinations where he has organized various events almost single-handedly.

Raju Francis Fernandes, MD of SPPE (Dubai) was the chief guest and the main sponsor for the show. Ravisha Electronics, Grand Magrath Hotel, Brilliant Printers supported the event while daijiworld was the media partner.

It was a rare sight to see so many Bangaloreans flocking to the venue to see a top quality drama performed with class. The crowd were glued to their seats throughout and appreciated the efforts by the actors as well as the organizers immensely.

It was a drama I was waiting to witness and how well it was organised! Mr. Denzil Fernandes has exhibited his usual aplomb, so essential in staging such events. We should truly be indebted to Mr. Raju Francis Fernandes for his generosity in sponsoring this event, without which the people of Bangalore would not have been able to watch such a nice drama. Thank you Mr. Raju Francis Fernandes.

Congratulations to Daiji Rang Mandir troupe for their brilliant performance in the cool city of
Bangalore.Earlier drama troupes from Mumbai and Mangalore would travel to Gulf countries to stage
Konkani plays. Now the trend has changed.Drama troupe like Daiji
Rang Mandir,Dubai would come down to Mangalore(Udupi) and Bangalore
to stage their play.I am quite sure
that sooner or later, the same troupe would travel to Israel and Canada with their popular play.Good luck and all the best to all the artistes, specially DSP(Director
    Special)Daiji Dayan Dubai(DDD)!
    Hip Hip Hurray!! Cheers!

It was indeed a rare privilege to watch this Konkani drama enacted by the artistes from Dubai. Our thanks are due to Mr. Raju Francis Fernandes for making this happen by sponsoring the event. It was so gracious of him to have flown to Bangalore for the occasion and it is to be hoped that other affluent Mangalorean businessmen take a leaf out of his book and show the love, spirit and enthusiasm being displayed by Mr. Raju Fernandes. towards our language.
