Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Apr 30: In yet another case of poll code violation, a huge amount of cash was seized from an apartment at Attavar here on Monday April 29 night.

As per sources, Rs 63 lac in cash was seized from the apartment belonging to U N Abdul Razak here.

The operation was led by the sector magistrate and the assistant commissioner, based on a tip-off. It is said that money was to be used for political activities. The owner could not furnish appropriate documents or account for the money, sources said.

Razak is said to be engaged in fish business and the apartment reportedly belongs to his daughter. Sources said that he reportedly denied that the money was used for political activities, but he may be asked to produce relevant documents to prove his claim.

Deupty commissioner Harsh Gupta, ACP Jagannath, election officers and others were part of the raiding team.

Pandeshwar police have registered a case.

Well done and congates DC Mr. Harsha Gupta for spreading wide net for catching a big bundle of fish (money) stock which is not accpomanying the legal documents for proving the identity of the money stock of 65 lakhs. I am not saying that the accused Mr. U. N. Abdul Razzak is illegally holding such big of cash. But there is a doubt existing if he is legally holding the money then why he was not provided the legal documents of supporting the where abouts of Rs. 63 Lakhs. Come on Mr. U N Abdul Razzak provide the legal documents and prove your self that you are innocent and you are legally holding the cash of 63 Lakhs. It is nice to hear about you Mr. Gupta you are doing lot of good work to the benefit of the society and also to the benefit of the general public. God is great why because right time he sent you to Mangalore to control the election campaign and control the election fever in the town and in the outskirt and in the rural area of Mangalore town. Mr. Gupta keep it up and do more good works and better serve the people in the unselfish manner. God bless you and give you more courage, strength and long tenure of service in Mangalore and to the people of Karnataka. Jai Hind

Shocking, when a recent survey says that 30% of the poorest people are Indians so much of unaccounted money in the system!! No doubt the prices of realty and inflation has risen out of proportion because of such kind of easy money floating in the system!!

I wish MODEL ELECTION CODE OF CONDUCT must remain forever. This time there are strict rules followed in most of the election canvas rally EC Video team following them.I think keeping money in house will not attract POLL CODE VIOLATION but owner must furnish origin and source of huge cash found by the officials.SUCH OPERATION IS REALLY UNPRECEDENTED IN RECENT TIME.

In another incident a rubber trader in Venoor-Beltahngy road found to be carrying considerable cash in his jeep when EC officials intercepted the jeep!!!So that man cursed the officials!!Is it too much or EC is correct in applying POLL CODE VIOLATION?
