Mangalore: Newspaper accuses Palemar supporters of vandalism, complaint filed

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Apr 30: Managing director of Chitra Publications (P) Ltd which publishes ‘Karavali Ale’ daily, has complained to Suratkal police station on Monday April 29, alleging that supporters of former state minister, Krishna Palemar, had burnt down bundles of the said daily at Krishnapura 9th block on Sunday, and near Suratkal bus stand on Monday morning.

The complaint dated April 29 claims that area corporator of BJP, Tilakraj, had led the gang which torched the bundles at Krishnapura, and that this had been orally communicated to the policemen. It also has said that supporters of Palemar also snatched away newspaper bundles as soon as the car loaded with ‘Karavali Ale’ reached Suratkal bus stand on Monday morning, and torched them.

While remarking that snatching of newspaper copies and burning them down is the usual trait of Sangh Parivar members, the complaint expressed anguish at the negligence shown towards its earlier complaint to the police commissioner about the destructive activities of people loyal to Hindu Jagran Vedike.

“As we apprehended on the basis of the incident on Sunday that our vehicles carrying newspaper would not be safe, we had called up Suratkal police inspector, Nataraj, at 8 am, and sought protection to the car while unloading newspaper bundles in Suratkal. But when our vehicle came to the bus stand, no police personnel were present. This encouraged the miscreants to destroy newspaper copies,” the complaint signed by Rohini S said.

She also claimed that the miscreants in both cases had challenged the newspaper on the issue of publishing anti-Palemar reports, besides posing threat to vandalize the newspaper office and home of the newspaper owners in Kulai.

“On the basis of civil and criminal cases filed by Palemar against our newspaper in Mangalore and Bangalore, we infer that he nurses enmity against the publication and its promoters. We feel that a couple of reports relating to election published by us have enraged him, as a result of which he would have abetted these activities through his followers. It is said that Palemar had held discussions with likeminded people in his party before taking law into his hands,” it added.

The complaint has sought initiation of legal action against those who got involved with destructive activities, and those who inspired the elements to engage in the said act. It also seeks police intervention to ensure that Palemar, Sangh Parivar, and others do not create bottlenecks for the operation of the newspaper.

The media is doing their job... They are bound to give the citizens all the correct news to establish the true colours of our politicians from every party.... If Karavali Ale had published some similar news about a Congress or JDS Or KJP man then Palemar's supporters would have distributed special copies to everyone's house and would have sent sweet boxes to the newspaper office I guess !!!!
Finally this BJP Govt has taught the people of Karnataka to become shrewd enough to vote for the right person and the right party in the coming elections....

From the "Agree" nos. & disagrees
one can guess the dwindling support to Palemar.
Now voters know his real identity, especially after the "porn" episode. Wonder if he will win this time.
Some people are famous for their achievements in education\social welfare\philanthropy\scientists etc. etc.
But one can become famous in certain circles by high-handedness, mafia type activities which are necessary in their businesses and safe guard their not so honestly accumulated wealth.
Such people are or want to be in the news every now and then for wrong reasons, so that people will fear them not respect them.

But in present days money matters most during election time and who can spend the most..... than
    the honest one.
We should not elect the one where our children are prone to follow the bad habits of the elected representative of the area!!

Political parties or Political leaders should contain their supporters and CHELAs to behave.Burning news papers is un democratic and unconstitutional criminal activities. If any complaint against certain news paper or daily, affected party or individual or citizens take paper to COURT or PRESS GUILD.This action of said party and leader indeed very funny and can't lock the mouth of paper by doing so.In fcat ignorance is best medicine but now those who rare indulged in criminal activities will face long hand of the law even if local police ignore the incidence also.End of the PALEMAR will be the looser.

The 4th Para of the above message clearly states Police were (police Inspector himself Mr. Natraj) informed well in time and asked for protection. But police did not arrive to give the necessary protection.
This clearly shows my earlier claim that police will not take any steps to safeguard\protect any one else if politician are involved. This is a classic case of interference in Police work.
When Public asks\requests police for protection It has to be extended and a if there are any charges for such service, to be charged.
Like this kind of attitude from the police should not be taken lightly and it should be probed and punished if found negligence of duty has occured.

The so called palemar seems to be a public figure and its a disgrace to him and his association that he does these acts, challenging the law & order. He must be mistaken that people are afraid & looks like he is not aware of the power of Pen and People. He should be taught a lesson and aprehended soon so this doesnt encourage other miscreants to continue the same act before common man takes law & order into their hands!!

The money power and frustration of the BJP leaders can be seen crystal clear here. The law enforcing agencies have to seek details of tax payments (Income and Wealth Tax) of the all the candidates and their relatives.
