Dubai: SDM alumni reunites for fifth meet

Media Release

Dubai, Apr 30: A group of twelve  former students of SDM Law College, Mangalore residing in the UAE gathered on 12 October 2012, planning to form the SDM Law College Alumni in the UAE.

Their enthusiasm paid well as they identified more members. Since the first meeting, the group members have increased from 12 to 40.  Several meetings of the Alumni were conducted henceforth. At present, more than 80 members have been identified in the UAE. It is wonderful to note that many of them are practicing Law in the UAE. The Alumni is now looking forward to bring in more active members.

The fifth meeting of the Alumni was held on April 26 at 11 am in Marco Polo Hotel, Dubai. The members relived the wonderful memories of their college life.

The members have raised fund for one of their college mates who met with an accident in India.

The main objectives of the Alumni are to undertake various charitable activities such as to motivate specially challenged children, student sponsorship, provide free legal advice, identify job for the needy, actively participate in social cause etc.

Being lawyers, the members have more social responsibility towards the society. The Alumni intends to work closely with the Indian Embassy and UAE Government Authorities to address various legal issues related to the Indian Community in the UAE and provide assistance to them.

All the former SDM Law College students residing in the UAE are requested to contact sdmlcuae@gmail.com  to join the group.
