Mangalore: Fr Denzil Lobo takes over as rector of St Aloysius College

Mangalore, May 4: Fr Denzil Lobo took over the reigns of St Aloysius College as its rector during a Mass offered in the presence of the community members and a few invited Jesuit guests in the beautiful chapel of St Aloysius College here on Thursday May 2.
At the end of the Mass Fr Francis Serrao, the Provincial of Karnataka Jesuit Province read out the appointment letter sent by Fr Adolfo Nocholas, the general of the Society and handed it over to Fr Denzil.
Thereafter Fr Denzil requested all the Jesuit fathers and brothers to lay their hands on him and invoke God’s blessings so that he may be able to shoulder the responsibilities as rector of St Aloysius College.
Before the Mass all the documents were handed over to him by the outgoing rector Fr Joseph Rodrigues in the presence of Fr Freddie Menezes, the treasurer of MJES.
The Mass was followed by a brief felicitation function.
