Dubai, May 4: The much-awaited and eagerly anticipated Wilson Olivera Nite organized by Seasons Middle East, the event management group, lived up to its hype. The mesmerizing musical show was presented at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium on Friday May 3.

Wilson Olivera, young composer and singer hailing from Padukone, Kundapur, regarded as a promising musician from the coastal region, entertained the Konkani music lovers of UAE who gathered in large numbers from across the Emirates to witness the musical show.

The musical extravaganza delivered the magic and turned out to be very special for soul touching about 12 new compositions. The audience were left clapping and craving for more.

Wilson Olivera’s entry song was ‘Thumcho Ugdaas Aailo’ and departed with ‘Dev Borem Karum’. ‘Vochonk Asa Tuvem’, ‘Naveekaran’ ‘Business Ghallo’ and ‘Antroli Molbaar’ too turned out to be highly appealing and memorable. Rony D’Cunha’s ‘Kenna Kenna’, Pradeep Pinto’s ‘Sanchechim Saat Zaalim’, Prashant Pinto’s ‘Motinth Ek Asha’, Monica Valder’s ‘Yo Re Tum Yo’, Preema D’souza’s ’17 Sampon 18’ and Zeena Pereira’s ‘Kon Re Tum’ were catchy.

Thunderous applause was given to all numbers of Wilson Olivera, Rony D’Cunha, Pradeep Pinto, Prashant Pinto, Zeena Pereira, Preema D’souza and Monica Valder. The melodious duets touched the hearts of audience for its effective tune and wording.

The music was rendered by Adrian Gomes. Popular dance group Ocean Kids entertained with their foot tapping shakes, jiggles and wiggles. The comedy relief was given by Me-Mo-Ri –Lavina that produced involuntary hilarity and laughter.

The full house show was hosted by International Award Winner Ronald Olivera. He kept the gathering engaged with his captivating style and humor. In one word, this was a well-organized program by Seasons Middle East with non-stop entertainment without wasting time of inaugural and felicitation ceremonies. It was first of its kind in that sense. Kudos to Jawahar Castelino, the promoter of Seasons Middle East Fzc.

The second leg of this mega spectacle will be unleashed today 4th May in Abu Dhabi at India Social & Cultural Centre at 6:30 pm.

Well Jossey...There is a difference between talent and a showpiece...Talent is defined and recognised by names like Ronnie, Preema, Zeena and of course the great Wilson...Showpieces are created by people like you who do not recognise talent. Wilson nite was a great show of musical and singing talent except for a few flaws whom I do not like to name..Be genuine with your comments as it allows talent to correct itself..All the best!!

Well, I do not agree with Peter & Oswald, even I attended this show. The comments may or may not be self made propaganda we do not know. How we guys are that sure its self made propaganda? If we have proof then we can strongly say so, moreover Mr. Oswald D’souza being in Mangalore how can he judge the quality of the show only by reading the report and pictures on net. I too agree Wilson Olivera is one of the best composer in today’s Konkani music no doubt about it. As per my judgement even I can say this was one of the super hit shows that I have ever seen for the following reasons
1)For past many years I have attended almost all Konkani shows in Dubai, in most of the shows we can hear the same songs repeated for so many years. But here in Wilson Olivera Nite I witnessed maximum new songs with great lyrics.
2)Richness in the lyrics: In this show I really liked the lyrics of Wilson Olivera specially a song ‘Vosonk Assa’. Well this song was no doubt the super hit song of the show. Only Wilfy Rebimbus’ had this quality. Now after Wilfy Rebimbus I could see this kind of richness in Wilson Olivera’s songs. Here I do not compare Wilfy with Wilson- Wilfy Rebimbus was always great and no one is greater than Wilfy till date in konkani, but now after Wilfy if there is anyone who can deliver their compositions with such a meaningful lyrics then its Wilson Olivera, no doubt about it. In the beginning I had heard Wilson Olivera’s album but I used to think it was Wilfy’s CD but 5yeras back I came to know it’s not Wilfy’s CD its Wilson Olivera’s.
3)There was no time waste in this show, I believe this was the first time I am watching a show without and time waste or stage programs. I do not thing there was any Konkani shows before in Dubai without any stage programs.
4)The Music, singing, MC, Dance, Sound and Stage setting was really good.
Considering all these facts of this show I can say Wilson Olivera has again captured the hearts of Konkani music lovers in Dubai.

I agree with Oswlad, i was reading in media that Olivera show was better then others it clears the self motivation.

I am not against any one, but saying supper hit house full show, never had before, Wilson is number one in Konkanni its all false and cheap publicity, i know for self motivation and to get more shows you can change the name and place and praise for yourself, but please we audience have witnessed and we know the fact.

Show might have been good, bad or average but calling it the best show ever sounds like a self made propaganda. No matter how many comments you here at the end of the day only your performance matters so work on improving that, good luck

One or two points deserve highlighting. First, the superb compering from Ronald who was at his best last night. Definitely, success as a compere is not a matter of chance. It calls for all skill, grace, and eloquence. Ronald did display all of it. For once we were spared of all that bombastic crescendo-ish , high rhyming long sentences which end with such high pitched announcement that you hardly understand which singer’s name was that. There is no need to shout out a name. All you have to say it clearly that’s all. He was easy, cool and the best of all – not too much loud. Good job boss.
Secondly, performance of Monica. Though she came only once, she lit fire. If you don’t believe just watch some of the photos and video. There was too much of smoke on stage. The song was so well choreographed with all those performers surrounding her here and there, that if the lights were little more dark, I would have mistaken her to be either Beyonce or Mariah, really. No wonder, if what Ronald said is right, then Monica is Mangalore’s answer to Sri Lankan lat lag gayi Jacqueline Fernandez ! Great job ma’am.

Well organized program with good songs and skits. The best part of the program was that there was no stage program which enabled organizers to finish the program on time. All the best for future events.
