Kundapur: Six injured as bus smashes into auto, three critical

Kundapur, May 5: As many as six persons were critically injured after a private bus rammed into their auto riskshaw near Idoor, Kunjladi, at Kollur – Kundapur state highway on Friday May 4.

Rickshaw driver indentified as Sathish Shetty of Kotani village was ferrying passengers to Kollur temple when the accident took place.

Apart from Sathish, passengers Malathi Shetty, Kusuma Shetty, Sumathi Shetty and their children Hardik Shetty and Netravati Shetty, were injured. They are residents of Kadinakallu of Kunjladi.

A private bus belonging to Hanuman Transport Company rammed into the rickshaw from the rear end on Kollur – Kundapuara highway.

Driver Sathish, Malathi Shetty and Kusuma Shetty are said to be critically injured. All the injured were immediately rushed to Kumadapura private hospital. The completely damaged rickshaw indicated the severity of accident.

Kollur police have registered a case.

    I pray to God for a speedy recovery of those injured in the auto/bus collision. Horrifying pictures and that shows the impact of the accident. It is so unfortunate that this Shetty family were travelling in an auto rickshaw to pray in a famous temple but they were not destined for that. So sad.

    Some times I think myself many times accident happens when people go to meet god in temples. Why god cannot help to avoid such tragedies?

    This is never ending story.. Some of the drivers recklessly as if they have no blood in their eyes. There are no groups who can stop such & dont dare also... Shame!!!!!

    Very sad news, but I wonder Hanuman Transport, one of reputed transport company of undivided South Canara, having very good expert drivers...I think its Destiny.
