Udupi: Accidental fall into fire – woman loses life

Udupi, May 6: Asha (38), daughter of Lalita Shriyan living near Canara Bank’s Kunjibettu branch here, lost her life after a fatal fall into the fire started near her home by herself recently.  She was unmarried.

Asha had heaped the foliage and other waste materials together, before igniting it near her home. At that time, she accidentally fell into the fire after her pet dog pounced upon her unexpectedly. She sustained grievous injuries, and was shifted to Wenlock Hospital in Mangalore for treatment.

However, without responding to treatments, she died in the hospital in the evening. On a statement made by Vijay Kumar, brother of the deceased, a case of unnatural death was registered in the town police station here.
