Bangalore: PU results announced - Coastal districts in top three spots

Bangalore, May 6: The coastal region has made a clean sweep of the PU results, with Udupi securing the highest pass percentage, followed by Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada in second and third places respectively.

Udupi came first with a pass percentage of 92.72 percent. Dakshina Kannada secured a pass percentage of 91.76 percent, while in Uttara Kannada, the percentage stood at 82.97 percent.

The results were declared at 4.30 pm on Monday May 6 by Kumar Nayak, secretary of primary and secondary education board.

The total pass percentage across different streams stood at a not-so-impressive 59.36 percent.

As with SSLC results which were declared on the same day, girls, with a pass percentage of 66.51, have outshined the boys (52.72 percent).

Altogether, 3.63 lac students have passed out of 6.11 lac students.

Yadgir stood at the bottom of the table with 46.02 percent.

Among the different streams, commerce students topped the list followed by science and arts.

    One thing I Suspect, I do not know whether others here agree with my view.

    After changing the exam patters of SSLC (now more objective questions) our coastal districts slips from top positions often. With the new patterns, in other districts MASS COPYING is happening (encouraged by teachers) ???

    Also, After changing the paper patters, SSLC pass percentage in our state drastically went up...
