Mangalore, May 9: A cow and a calf were allegedly stolen from a house near Someshwar Uchil bridge, Ullal near here. The theft came to light on Thursday May 9 morning.

The house belongs to Ganesh Vasudeva Mallya.

The thieves allegedly planted a part of a cow's feet in the 'tulsi katte' in front of the house.

The incident came to light in the morning, when Ganesh’s wife saw the feet and on frantically searching, realized that their cow and calf were missing. However, she said that the feet found near the tulsi plant were not of their calf or cow.

The police was soon informed, but to the couple's utter disappointment, the police reportedly failed to respond efficiently and did not even visit the spot.

On learning of the incident, MLA U T Khadar visited the family and directed the police to arrive there immediately. Finally, Ullal police inspector and his team visited the spot in the afternoon.

The inspector who visited the spot late, is said to have even prevented the press photographers from clicking photos of the spot. Sources claimed that the main reason behind it was that he did not want any black mark in his record of duty, and that he has received the CM's award and wants to maintain the same record. Sources also said that earlier too, when there was a theft, he had strictly ordered the press persons not to click photographers.

The locals said that the reason for increasing number of thefts is a near-absence of policemen on night beat. Though registers have been placed in some of the places, they have been left unsigned for a long time, they claimed.

It is expected, really sad some people here can't understand the reality of life. I request you people behave like educated & matured people. Don't support such comunal activities.

All political parties are same. Better think twice before supporting anyone. Support the personality not the party & maintain the peace in Mangalore.

Dear Ismail Bhai, I have read your comments in the past and continue to read your comments. Most of them are reasonable too! But, I am finding it hard to digest this comment of yours. This type of nonsense should be condemned by one and all, rather than accusing BJP for this!! Also, my humble request to all commentators - let's keep our comments to the topic rather than making personal attacks on one another.

Robbing another mans things, cattle or animals or any other things is a crime. Whoever has done this has broken one law out of ten commandments. The theft is punishable and law must take its course.

    See the difference -
During earlier Govt. rule politicians used to suppress police from taking any action against the law breakers.
But now the New Govt. - politician making the police to see into the incident and take action ...
    Do you see the difference!!

Now it is other way around to create un-necessary problem.
wonder why so much reluctance by the police officer to arrive and check.
Did he know something in advance about this?
Still there is some time left for the new govt. to take over.....
The new Govt. must take action if police do not carry out their duties properly. Then only there will be peace.

Theft of cow and calf is onething and planting the cows legs is another. It is made by sick minded people. Generally thieves won't do such as planting the cows feet in Tulsi katte. These guy's are to be caught and punished rigorously. This communal mentality shall be routed out from the people of Mangalore.

So that he could keep his records clean though crime like this boost up to harm the peaceful society! And ofcourse in your view Rape/Murder are committed to create havoc! Great thought! @Mr. Rajesh.

This shows the different between the congress leaders and BJP Leaders. Mr Khader came to the spot immediately and then the SI. But if it were the BJP they would have arrived with RSS BD Goons create a Chaos and would have tried to get the political benefit of it by attacking another community.

Secondly the SI must be suspended and a strong action must be taken against him for the dereliction of the duty. Crime increases in the society due to the failure of such kind of officers to take immediate action at right time.

    Mr. Aravind, Mangalore

You have rightly said. 'CONGRESS RULE BEGINS".

Look at the change, a theft at house belongs to majority community, Police tries to play it down, MLA (WHO BELONGS TO MINORITY COMMUNITY) PERSONALLY VISITS THE VICTIMS, MAKE SURE POLICE ARRIVES AND START TAKING ACTION.

WE COULD NOT HAVE IMAGINED THESE KIND OF THINGS BJP RULE.

MANGALORE IS ALREADY STARTED TO SEE THE CHANGE, IT IS ON RIGHT PATH OF COMMUNAL HARMONY.

    GOD BLESS MANGALORE

Good logic. If such incident happened in the past 'washed out' party which was in power then was responsible. If it is happening now or in future (next five years) the same 'washed out party' will be responsible. Blaming 'washed out party' for any and every reason has become a fashionable thing. Keep up your good logic.
