Udupi: Accident at Brahmavar - One dead, another injured

Udupi, May 9: One person was killed and another injured in an accident that occured near Mabukala bridge, Brahmavar near here on Thursday May 9.

The deceased has been identified as Jason D'Mello, aged around 23 and resident of Sasthan. He was the son of John D'Mello, who stays in the Gulf, and Theresa. He has a brother by name Joel D'Mello. Jason was working as an AC repairman.

The accident occured when a Mahendra pickup vehicle collided head-on with the bike Jason was riding. Both were said to be speeding.

His friend Vijay, a resident of Handady, who was riding with him sustained serious injuries. He was shifted to Manipal hospital.

The pickup was plying from Kundapur to Mangalore while Jason and Vijay were on their way to Sasthan from Brahmavar.

A case has been registered in Kota police station.
