Indian-origin man jailed in Singapore in road rage case

Singapore, May 10 (IANS): A court in Singapore Friday sentenced a 38-year-old Indian-origin businessman to one month in jail for punching a man in a road rage case.

Edwin Jaykumar Samuel was found guilty of punching Peh Boon Hoe, 58, on the evening of July 31, 2011, the Straits Times reported.

The incident took place when Peh was turning his company lorry to the left to enter Jurang East Street 21, when Samuel drove in his car at high speed from the opposite side while honking.

Samuel appealed the sentence and the court granted him bail for 15,000 Singapore dollars pending the appeal.
