Mangalore, May 11: “This time I requested all the minorities not to vote for JD(S) and even distributed pamphlets against JD(S) in some wards. JD(S) candidate SP Chengappa got only 1,672 votes and failed. In the entire district, JD(S) did not get good response. In the ULB polls, JD(S) gained more than 10,000 votes,” said DM Aslam.
He was addressing the press meet held in the city on Friday May 10.
“Amarnath Shetty should retire from politics. I always wanted JD(S) candidate Amarnath Shetty to be defeated in the election. My wish has come true. This time people of Dakshina Kannada have cast their votes without any dicrimination of caste, religion, or sect,” he added.
Sadik, Rahamathula, Sathar were present on the occasion.
