BJP lost because of KJP, Congress threatened Yeddyurappa: Eshwarappa

Daijiworld Media Network – Shimoga (SP)

Shimoga, May 11: Former state BJP president and deputy chief minister, K S Eshwarappa, held former chief minister, B S Yeddyurappa, directly responsible for the rising fortunes of Congress in the state. He was addressing a press conference at the BJP office in the city on Friday May 10.

“Congress has reaped the benefit because of splitting of votes between KJP and BJP and also confusion created out of the creation of KJP. The advantage reaped by Congress is purely of temporary nature, and it will not be long-lasting,” Eshwarappa opined.

He also said that the plan of the Congress to divide BJP’s vote by hoisting Yeddyurappa against BJP to achieve division of votes has succeeded.

"For winning just six seats, there was no need for Yeddyurappa to build a regional party. Congress had threatened Yeddyurappa with sending him to jail, if he did not agree to their suggestion of quitting BJP and floating a regional party. This was done with the sole aim of forcing a divide in the BJP vote bank. Yeddyurappa has confirmed that Congress had benefitted from the division of votes between BJP and KJP. Our party will take this defeat as a challenge and reverse the forturnes in the coming Lok Sabha poll,” he said.

On a question about rumours circulating in some circles relating to efforts being made to woo Yeddyurappa back into BJP,  Eshwarappa said he is not aware about such a move. “Top leadership of the party has to decide on this issue. But Yeddyurappa had earlier sworn that he would never come back to BJP. As the former chief minister is in the habit of issuing contradicting statements, I prefer not comment on this one,” he clarified.

Eshwarappa analyzed that Congress suffered from revolt, dissidence and factionalism among leaders. There were allegations that tickets of some constituencies were sold by the Congress leaders. The leaders themselves caused the downfall of Parameshwar in the election, he felt.

About his own rout in the election, the former deputy chief minister said that it was his personal loss, not of the party. He felt he failed to read the minds of the voters and win over their hearts. He also denied that his defeat was not because of caste-based division of votes, duly stressing that it was on account of division of votes between BJP and KJP. He felt that people from all categories had voted for him.

About a number of complaints lodged against BJP activists in the name of several individuals, he felt that this has been done due to political enmity, and wanted institutions like Lokayukta to investigate the issues and bring out truth. He expressed the confidence that he will be cleared of the allegations leveled against him.

In India the choice is simple communal vs corrupt. As people don't want to be divided in terms of caste, religion etc... they vote for the corrupt. So Congress is ruling for the 50 of the 65 yrs. with no benefit to the christians and muslims who have blindly voted for them.

People gave mandate to Congress. If they are really sincere, they must send all corrupt BJP and KJP MLS (ex) to Jail. They should learn a lesson of life time for looting people's money. During BJP govt corruption become official. Govt servents started thinking this is their right. I am afraid even congress MLAs start making money as they learnt it from BJP MLAs. Most corrupt among are from Shimoga, Eshwarappa and Yedurappa.

BJP is lost NOT because of KJP. Every citizen who voted against for it is very brilliants. They observed what BJP did in five years. After all what is achievement of BJP in five years with all CM? Increased rapes [even by ministers], Gangs fights, Coffee shop attacks, Pub attacks, Ice cream parlor attack, watching blue films, bribery in all sector, church attacks, and finally stabbing back one another. We who voted against BJP are not foolish or not stupid. BJP must accept what they did and repent for it by doing some good social work like cleaning roads, cleaning public toilets at bust stops, railway stations, etc….

Stop dreaming Mr. Rajesh. How is NDA going to reach the magic figure of 272 to form govt. at centre? Your party may end up with abt 130-140 seats, from where the balance come from? BJP does not have any base in South India. There are so many regional parties like TDP NCP Biju Janathadal, JDS etc are not going to support NDA. If you insist on Modi as your PM candidate, then JDU and Shiva sena are not going to support you. Be realistic in your prediction and stop day dreaming.

Bollu..I have seen BJP administration for five years. So I know what is BJP's hidden agenda. People taught a good lesson to BJP this time. Last elections, people gave BJP a chance for the first time in any south Indian state. But BJP failed to live to the expectations of people and people gave fitting reply this time. What Modi did in Mangalore? I just spread communal venom and Mangaloreans showed BJP the door. That is the reason Palemar and Yogish Bhat lost. Civilised Hindu's want peace in the society. BJP wanted to gain power through communal disharmony for which secular Hindu's were against for. Civilised Hindu's don't tolerate self proclaimed saviours of Hindu religion.

    1. Attacks on religious places
    2. Moral policing
    3. Asking for orders from Kalladka Bhat and other goon organisations
    4. Corruption
    5. Inviting Modi to spread communal venom in State
    6. Hindu's realised that BJP is not the party which safeguard the hindus instead BJP is spoiling name of hindus across the globe
    7. People of Karnataka deserves peace and harmony and the society and BJP has completely failed inspite of having one CM and two incompetent Deputy CM's who are given those posts just to satisfy their egos.

    Sirjee,
You mean to say that Yeddy is only cause for your defeat and voters would have ignored operation kamala, watching blue films, Halappa, Mining, Church attacks, moral policing,........
We feel proud of being from a nation where a village paperboy Kalam changed the face of country.
This time another paperboy has stepped in vidhana Soudha to change face of Karnataka and you are red faced eswarappaware.

Mr.Ishwarappa, All along you have been telling the people that all tainted people left BJP and that your party is clean now. Your supporters in this forum has been claiming that corrupt leaders had been kicked out of the party. Now you are telling that Mr. yediyurappa left because of pressure from Congress. Is it that because of Congress, BJP is washed out and cleaned. ha ha ha

Hey All, Jeevan is very right in telling ' BJP will bounce back'. because, BJP is known for using such provoking words such as bouncing, 'ugra (terror)horata' etcand doing such acts through its cadres. But doesn't know soft language. Perhaps by bouncing back they mean to say that they will pounce on people by attacking them in the name of religion, culture, etc. We have experienced this.

Eswarappa is like a mongoose. Before blaming others think whats lacks in you and admit then only you can become a leader.Otherwise people will always call u a stupid.
