Good move by Dr. Bishop Lobo. Of course both Mangalore and Udupi twin districts always shine in educational fields Specially because of good education and literacy. Of course there is a need to see into the spirituality of the people and priests. because nowardays materialisim developing rapidly rather than spirituality. let us give importance to this and realize this point specially that of the loving our brothers and sisters and charity for the people in need.

All educational qualifications are added advantage to the priestly life. What is lacking with the priests is obedience to the Church authorities and church superiors. They have taken this oath, during their ordination .
Another area where are priests are lacking is spirituality, sorry to say lack of knowledge of the Holy scripture, not trying to practice as per the word of God.

Hope the Bishop of Udupi stress this point very well.
WE wish Udupi Diocese best of luck. Hope the Bishop of Udupi stress this point very well.

One Thing I had heard that Bishop of Udupi Dr Jerald Issac Lobo knows very well to hit the nail at right places.Within a short span in Udupi he has proved it.First he has Apointed Dr Baptist Menezes , A Tough and Staright Forward but Equally Adored Administrator as Vicar General. And Now bringing back Fr Denis D Sa in his own courtyard.FR D Sa a multitalented priest with Proven Track Record is a Priest for Masses. With his Easy Go Nature and God Gifts Talent to get the Work Done I am sure Fr D'Sa will create wonders in Udupi Diocese. Also I am Looking forward for the Promotion of Another Equally Genius and King of Education Fr Fredrick D Souza fortunately he is my Parish Priest too.

All the Very Best to the New Apointees.

    Nanu baba,

indireclty you are saying ohers preiests are not good ? All preiests are same qualified and went same seminary and training. All are good. It is on parishioners are making tag good preiest and bad preiest. If the preiest gives some importance to one person, he will Tag him good, if not then bad. All preiests are capable to do all thier duties. dont single out one priest is good and other is not !!

Yes Dear Andrew Cunha, it’s a give and take policy now between two dioceses. I attended his mass whilst on visit to Mangalore in March and I agree with your views about him. Fr. Ferdinand is a great orator and very good in making an impression on the people with his talks. Yes indeed it’s a great loss to Bejai and big gain for Kalianpur parish and College.
Do you know what happened to the current Udyavar PP Fr. Cyprian Pinto? I did not see his new posting though he just came in a year ago to this parish, but he already has a replacement Fr. Roque Dsouza?? Can someone shed some light on this?

The diocese of Udupi is very lucky enough to get such a Visionary Bishop like Jerry. Shimoga diocese really misses him. There is no doubt the udupi diocese will grow to its highest heights under the leadership of Bishop far sighted plan.

Scripture says my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Lord has chosen shepherds to lead the laity so that they may not lack.

Academic Education has not reduced crime and injustice to the humanity.

May every priest be guided by the holy spirit to live and spread the love of God to his people!

Bishop Gerald Lobo has made a great success as a powerful administrator wherever he has been and in any capacity. He was greatly responsible for the growth of C.O.D.P. and did a wonderful job as a bishop in Shimoga. His taking over the charge of newly formed diocese of Udipi indeed is boon to the catholic community. He is a man for all seasons. He believes in the concept that all people are children of The Mother Earth and respects all religions. He has done well in appointing Father Baptist Menezes as the Vicar General of The Diocese. He has now the able assistance of Father Denis D'Sa who goes there with rich experience of Medical College administration. In the event of Udipi Diocese thinking in terms of having a Hospital here is Father Denis to ably assist Bishop Gerald.

One can read the writing on the wall that The Udipi Diocese is all set towards growth.
