Udupi, May 14: A head-on collision between a lorry and a car near the old Mariamma Temple at Kaup here on Monday May 13 led to a traffic gridlock on NH 66.
The lorry was plying from Mangalore to Udupi while the car was moving from Udupi towards Mangalore.
Mirculously, no one was hurt in the accident, though the vehicles were badly damaged.
The impact of the collision was such that the lorry turned over near the edge of the road while the car was smashed.
The car too had come to a stop on the road, thus obtstructing the traffic for sometime.
Kaup police led by inspector Archana K arrived at the spot and cleared the road.
A case has been registered in the Kaup police station.
