Udupi: Frustration over skin patches - teenager ends life

Udupi, May 14: An eighteen-year-old youth residing at Tara Compound near Bannanje Lord Mahalingeshwara Temple in the town, committed suicide on Monday May 13 afternoon, by hanging himself at his home.  He has been identified as Akshay (18), son of Srinivas Acharya.

Reportedly, white skin patches had appeared on the chest and neck regions of Akshay’s body of late, and even after visiting different doctors and following the treatment suggestions made by them, the patches failed to disappear. Frustrated over these patches, the teenager committed suicide, his father said in a statement filed with the town police station here.

The police have registered a case and begun investigation.
