Moodbidri: ICYM to present 'Utsav' on June 2, launch educational fund for needy

Moodbidri, May 16: ICYM of Moodbidri deanery on the occasion of completing 27 years of its existence will organize ‘Utsav 2013’ in a grand manner at Milan multi-purpose hall at Mastikatte on June 2.

The celebration is also an opportunity for the youth of Moodbidri deanery to exhibit their talents. The celebration will begin at 10 am with a talent show where people of all parishes of Moodbidri deanery will entertain people through various cultural programmes.

At 3 pm, the celebration will conclude with a valedictory programme where MLA JR Lobo, Frank Fernandes Dubai, Melwyn D’Cunha, Felix D’Souza, Walter Nandalike of Daijiworld, Arun Mendes, Walter Stephen Mendes of Divine Word, Roshan Castelino, Fr Austin Peter, Fr Ronald D’Souza, ICYM director of Mangalore diocese Nelson Monis will be the guests.

To mark this special occasion, the council members have also taken up a unique mission of ‘Educating and enlightening the lives of needy youth’ through an education fund.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Melwyn Lobo Hospet, president of ICYM Moodbidri deanery said that the education fund will be distributed to 12 needy youths of different parishes by the guests. As planned by the present council members, the education fund will be distributed every year to needy youths, he added.
