Mangalore: Bajrang Dal says new govt is anti-Hindu, demands closure of illegal abattoirs

Mangalore, May 17: "The newly-formed government has proved to be against the Hindus right from the beginning. The policy to ban cow slaughter mooted by the previous government has been scraped by the new government, which cleary shows that it is against us," said B Manjunath Mandya, state convener of Bajrang Dal.

Addressing a press meet here on Friday May 17, urged the government not to form anti-Hindu policies and also demanded that it instruct all deputy commissioners to shut down illegal slaughter houses in the state at the earliest.

He further said that Bajrang Dal would intensify its protest by raiding illegal slaughter houses and then forcibly seal them if their demands were not fulfilled.

"There are very few legal slaughter houses in the district which are permitted to kill only a few cows. But when it comes to beef stalls in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, there are more than 250 of them, which shows that a large number of illegal slaughter houses do exist," said Sharan Pumpwell, convener of Bajrang Dal, Mangalore unit.

Commenting on the issue of moral policing, he said, "We have been hearing many statements made by newly elected MLAs about moral policing. Bajrang Dal being a national association does not act against law. Government and its leaders should first think why moral policing takes place and then talk about it. Don't trouble us with that issue."

Jagadish Shenava, working president of VHP, Bhujanga Kulal, Bajrang Dal district convener, Pradeep Pumpwell among others were present.

Instead of seeking 'cheap political mileage' at the cost of extreme religious sentiments, Bajrang Dal must open 'Akadas' for promoting 'Kusti', they can also start special schools and teach 'Vedas', Open a Charitable hospital and serve the downtrodden. Manjunath Mandya and his followers ofcourse can go until the Supreme court if someone has stolen his cow and butchered. Otherwise BD is wasting their time spending money on press conferences. Wake up BD things have changed and its time for you to change your colors as well (of course for the benefit of the society). Its none of your business to poke your stinking nose into private affairs of people. The law of the land is above your policies. Restrict your moral policing within the four walls of your house.

Dear Mr. Jerome, most of the people who rear cows look after them till it dies. i have seen the cows even being cremated! i have seen families leave up food and mourn after their cow dies. the attachment with the cow is something which is even difficult for me to understand but its true.
Imagine one of your family members disppearing one morning you being sure that he/she is being butchered! for these reasons i back BD the illeagal slaughter houses should be closed. if govt. turns a blind eye, we should be with BD. Forget cast and creed, lets respect fellow citizen's sentiments and beliefs.

We already have many dangerous people of our own district like Kalladka, Jagish karanth, Jagdish Shenava, Sharam Pumwell, Sathya Suratkal to mislead our gullible youths. So why some one from Mandya has to come so far to do the same ?

Sharan, its time to preach the real and true values of hinduism in a Secular Country where policies are made by majority and not pockets of groups or associations. However public do respect concerns placed by you but they should not be anti secular. There are a lot of good things that Hinduism preaches and that needs to be practiced.

Best of Teachers, Doctors, Nurses and public places being attacked only keep the best in their profession out of India for the simple reason they are not able to practice their profession. Stop attacking and give an opportunity for the trained to train.

We always had good Hindu teachers even in Non Hindu schools, who have given best in the field of education which is missing today. Give an opportunity for the people to be educated when they suffer. Let them understand why they suffer. Knowledge and experience can win any battle. Its the choice you take - Violence or peace.

These are the same people we see in the news whenever there is trouble in Mangalore.

In the recent years, these goons were encouraged and protected by the communal minded politicians. However, the intelligent electorate of Mangalore has rejected the false stories by both BD and the politicians, and taught them a lesson in the last elections.

It is now time for the DC and the law enforcement to act and take action against these goons who try and force their beliefs on the people of Mangalore, and put these goons out of business forever.

Is the DC of Mangalore listening?

Do you have any sympathy on those who lost cattle? If yes... what is your comment? Another point: Your kids (or when you were kid) must have had the milk of a cow. How easily you can forget such an animal? Third Point: Bajaranga Dal has only targetting illegal slaughter house. Why you are bothered about illegal slaughter house? What is illegal is ILLEGAL, as such none should comment in favour of any illegal act. However, what BD generally does is also an illegal act even if it is to expose something illegal - because they are not legally authorised to manhandle illegal cattle trafickers, attack young men/women gatherings, entering educational institutions as a mob to pressurise the managements, attacking hospital staff and destroying hospital property etc...
Of course, cow is a precious animal but tell me what does the owner do to the cow once the cow ceases to be his breadwinner? Please let the forum know of your truthful answer.

So it's better you try finding some honest job now and get employed before you become 'unable to work' under 'handicap' quota even. You guys put to shame your families and the familes you caused pain. When you manhandled women pulled on thier dress hit them on the open road, where did your morals go.
Sick people you guys how much tax do you pay. Who gave you the right to manhandle anyone.
Guys please understand, stop your ego. One day your ego will eat you alive. By the time you realise you will be worthless. Go find better jobs. Help someone in distress. Set your houses in order first. Gain peoples respect first, then perhaps people will listen to you. But that too only if you come with valid suggestions. Not nonsense like what you are famous for doing.
As far as beef or anything else is concerned. India is everyones country. This country belongs to every law abiding citizen. It does not belong to culprits like you. So you dont have a say in anything.

India is a secular country and rules and legislations must be Just to all communities. Beef is a staple food for many people not only in Karnataka but also all over India.By banning it don't you think many are deprived of their right to eat what they wished in a democratic India. Even former Pakistan President is punished for breaking the constitution of the country. DON'T TRY TO CHALLENGE THE CONSTITUTION. So let everyone enjoy all rights and duties enshrined in the Indian Constitution. The minorities were really pained and hurt when police entered the churches and beat up innocent people in 2008. What justice was it when our worship places were attacked by anti minority people and the police instead of punishing the offenders used their lathies against unharmed people. HOW YOU WOULD HAVE FELT IF THE POLICE ENTERED YOUR WORSHIP PLACES TO BEAT YOU UP WHEN YOUR OWN WORSHIP PLACES WERE UNDER ATTACK. your ideas on moral policing and let people live their life. Let me draw the attention of BD with regard to Cow Slaughter. 1. If the present the Government has scrapped the Cow slaughter bill, then it is good for the poor people. 2. The Abattoirs should ensure that they slaughter only those cows which are above 10 years old. Those who slaughter young cows or calfs are in human and should be severely punished. 3. All animals and nature created by god has served human in many ways. Let us not introduce fanatic rules as these animals and nature are created by god for human and animal purpose. 4. UN has said if there is shortage of food, then we should eat insects like the chinese do. So banning cows can cause lot of disaster to mankind and animal kind. 5. If cow is very religious for hindus, we should accept and respect it but we cannot ban cow slaughter as it is very useful for poor people and also for animals in the Zoo. 6. Moral policing BD has crossed all limits and went above board. We have the freedom to live our life of dignity and it is our right to talk to opposite sex. 7. BD has no right to tell us what we should wear, read, talk to and how should we behave. 8. Your loss of election, as from day one in 2008 you went into rampage and thought people of D.K. will appreciate it. The Voters have taught you a good lesson that you will remember for life. Think positive and move in the right direction. Your ideas are a disaster to mankind. The Hindu community will pull you down.

"Bajrang Dal being a national association does not act against law." Sharan Pumpwell.
    LOL, what a joke! Grow up Mr. Pumpwell. We have a constitution. Please let the people enjoy their freedom & let live their life.

What a way to speak? Dear BD people, why didn't you feel you were hurting the minorities when you attacked churches and temples? Moral policing?
What morals did you have when you went on moral policing?
You dont feel guilty, but speak out as if you are the sole beings in the state.
People have right to food, right to live.
BD, You have had your gala time for 5 years under BJP. Now listen to what the government says.
