Dubai: Young artists impress at EP drawing contest

Dubai, May 20 : Emirates Pangalites,UAE organized Children drawing competition 2013 for the children under the age group from 4-12 on Friday, 17th May 2013 at “Happy Home Nursery”Karama, Dubai. This is the third drawing competition after receiving good response from the Parents and Children during the previous drawing competitions.

The objective of this competition was to give an opportunity to children to compete and show their talents, discover and display of their hidden talents, motivate the budding artists to blossom in the field of art.

The competition was held in three categories with the following subject.

AGE    Subject                                      Color type
4-6       Picture provided with outline   Crayons
7-9       Our Festivals                             Color Pencils
10-12    World in the future                   Water Color

The programme was started at 1.30 pm with the registration and assigning of numbers to the participants.



















































After the registration, The President of Emirates Pangalites, Clevin D’souza gave a warm welcome to all the participating children and their parents. He stressed that winning isn’t everything, but participation is equally important as everybody cannot win. One child from each age group was selected to draw on the chart to declare the drawing competition open.

Evening session was started with a brief introduction of the three judges by the young MC. They were Madhusudhan PK. Art teacher from Melody Makers, Sudha Bhat, former art teacher from Kids Talent Center and Rinky Duragkar, former art teacher from Kids talent center and Kalagramam. The judges said that the children with their artistic skills were highly competitive and encouraged them to continue with the hobby.

The prize distribution ceremony was conducted by Joel Quadras. The chief guests for the day was  Walter D’souza, Nandalike, Editor in Chief of Daijiworld.com and Dayan D’souza former convener of Daiji Dubai. President Clevin D’souza welcomed the chief guests by presenting them with bouquet of flowers.The Chief guests along with the three judges distributed the prizes to the winners.

In each category 5 prizes were awarded with prize money of AED 350, 250 and 150 and two consolation prizes with a trophy and certificate

1st Category(4-6) Yrs.
1st Place: Brent D’souza
2ndPlace: LishaCutinho
3rdPlace: Shalom Mendonca

Consolation: Melisha Mathias and Lennon D’souza.

2nd Category (7-9yrs)

1stPlace: AncitaMendonca
2ndPlace:Evan Cardoza
3rd Place: Mervin Noronha

Consolation: LonaLasrado and AphraQuadras.

3rd Category (10-12yrs)
1stPlace: Rheanne Lewis
2ndPlace:Melissa Sequira
3rd Place: Ivan Vidisha Alva

Consolation: Abigale Kyra Fernandes and PrajwalQuadras.

All the participating children were presented with certificates and gift hampers from Britannia Biscuits.

The programme was ended with vote of thanks by Secretary Veena Alva. The entire programme was hosted by young pangalite . Demitra Castelino.

    Hats off to the organisers of EP.the event was wonderful.A small suggestion is,please specify the birth dates and categorise instead of 4-6,7-9 &9-12,or please suggest in which category to place 6 and 9 kids.Thank you.
