Mangalore, May 24:
“As soon as Congress came to power in the state, its leaders in their excitement began taking all the wrong decisions. Instead of protecting the interests of citizens, they are creating problems for them,” said D V Sadananda Gowda, national vice-president of BJP.

Addressing media persons at the district BJP office here on Friday May 24, DVS said that some of the sudden decisions by the state government have created problems to people.

Strongly condemning the decision by the government to postpone and re-consider the erstwhile BJP government's move form 43 new taluks, he said, "The decision of creating new taluks was taken by the BJP in fulfilment of the long-pending demand of the people. At that time, some of the Congressmen who are now ministers had supported us, but now the same people are opposing it. They claim that they do not have enough money for the new taluks.

"As soon as Congress came to power, it announced various projects worth Rs 4,000 crore, but now it does not have money to create taluks. With such decisions, Congress government is proving that it is indulging in revenge politics," DVS alleged.

On the anti-cow slaughter policy proposed by the BJP government, Gowda said BJP brought proposed it after making a detailed study and the same policy is also enforced in states administered by the Congress. "But now Congress is hurting the religious sentiments of the majority of the people by making statements that it will implement the old act of 1964, thus supporting cow slaughter," he said.

Referring to CM’s statement indicating the inclusion of Udupi Sri Krishna Math and Gokarna Mahabaleshwar Temple under the muzrai department, he asked the government not to interfere in the issue as it would hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus. "Think properly before taking any decision," he warned, referring to the state government.

Commenting on statement made by chief minister Siddaramaiah on providing cheap alcohol to the poor, DVS said, "The government is trying to spoil the people living in rural areas with decisions like these."

Padmanabh Kottary, district BJP president said the district unit will be organizing ‘Jail Bharo’ on May 27 at 10 am, against the UPA government’s reckless governance and involvement of Congress leaders in numerous corruption cases.

Nithin Kumar from Meenugarika Nigama, Pushpalatha, district vice-president, Rajgopal Rai, Guruchan from Yuva Morcha among others were present.

The Congress will take appropriate decisions after finding out the facts in the related matters. There are important issues to be tackled than concentrating on Taluks and cow slaughter. If the cow slaughter is banned at national level, then it is applicable to Karnataka? Let BJP make arrangements to import beef from other states and then we can think of a ban. BJP is a empty vessel makes greater sound.

Forming new Taluks, districts, states will never help development.

We have enough (lazy) administrators who need to be made work harder to manage the number of districts and taluks we already have which in my opinion are a waste of precious tax payer's money.

For example, can Brahmavar, which has so little resources at present, manage itself as a taluk...??

Making these villages as Taluks will only benefit the land mafia and other vested interests at the expense of development for the masses.

I must also add that announcing new Taluks during the eve of last elections was a vote catching exercise by brainless Shutter, without making appropriate studies and allocation of funds for such a futile exercise.

If Congress govt. is sincere in promoting growth, they must strengthen the efficiency of the bureaucracy with bold developmental goals that benefit the masses.

Govt. hospitals were in pathetic conditions under BJP rule. May be so many cases of dengue etc. not reported. Who was there to oversee the negligence, as Minister was mostly in the resort.
Of course, your are looking now through those blood-shot eyes, effect of the loss, and complaining of a Govt. which has yet to take office properly. How the earlier Govt. could land up in such a big mess, beats everyone's imagination.
Good that we have a able Minister to look after health services, who has already taken up damage repair control on war footing.
Prevention of sicknesses like dengue due to mosquitoes were not taken up and if you come across such cases, they are due to the negligence of previous Govt.
Blame yourself first for electing\backing that non-performing Govt. and start praising\supporting the Congress Govt. for their quick actions to bring everything under control, from the doldrums they were in.
It is so heartening and a sense of relief that Congress is there to TAKE CARE.

bhandarkar maam, there is a famous saying in kannada "madidunno maharaya"(eat what you have cooked) these politicians when in power forget why they have been elected by people and rule the state(people) as if it is their ancestral property. Once they are defeated by people and out of power they cannot digest it and start throwing tantrums in the press. Let them be responsible and raise such issues in assembly and confront the government if this issues are ante people (again the frame work of democracy, by allowing the assembly to function properly) Not like their so called intellectual leaders do in parliment. I don't seen any benefit to common man when they disrupt the parliment repeatedly other than settling their own scores. We common man are sandwiched in between these egoistic leaders. I hope let the common sense prevail and our elected representatives respect peoples verdict(irrespective of victory or defeat)and work for the common cause i.e. betterment of state and country. I would like to share what HH Shk Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktom said while launching “m-Government” project "
Met with around 1000 Government officials today and announced our vision for the Government of the future. The Government of the future works 24/7 and 365 days a year. It is as hospitable as hotels, fast in delivering & strong in its procedures. The Government of the future is innovative and adaptive. It improves the quality of life and helps people achieve their happiness. We started working on this vision. Today, we launched the “m-Government” project with the goal of providing all services via smart phones. Through m-Government, we aim to reach people instead of them reaching us. Through their smartphones we can make their lives easier. Our deadline for the m-Government project is 2 years. We will never tolerate any failure in achieving this goal"

Wonder is DK BJP President still cling to his chair after shameful debacle in the entire DK district and if not SDPI in Sullia,it would be unprecedented white wash for BJP!!

Coming to RS 4100 crore sops to common people,it is unfair on the part of DVS to object as Siddu has comprehensive knowledge about financial status/management of the state

About declaration of new Taluks concerned, these announcement came in the fag end of BJP rule!Making a TALUK/DISTRICT are not childish play.DID BJP SET ASIDE BUDGETARY ALLOCATION FOR THESE TALUKS?!!So. it is nothing but populist political declaration with out having enough resources set aside.Yet that proposals were kept MORATORIUM for time being.

About Cow slaughter BILL, Congress opposed it in the Oppn bench and now came to treasury bench which has responsibility to defeat Draconian Modified bill.COW SLAUGHTER BAN has in the state since 1964 and will continue until further notice.

DVS lost ground in Puttur and even lost in Belthangady constituency, the candidate he might ed.BJP need good deliberation to find why it showed unprecedented dismal show in twin districts.Apart from that it lost even official oppn party in Karnataka, once BJP boasted HEBBAGILU for conquering South India for it's ruling.

Gokharna Temple was de- notified by BSY regime even after having resistance from locals and devotees but then BJP never heeded to public demand go ahead for it's unilateral decision...Where was DVS?
