Udupi: Will not allow government to control Sri Krishna Math - Janardhan Poojary

Udupi, May 24: “The state government's proposal to include Sri Krishna Math under the muzrai department is unnecessary as the administration of Sri Krishna Math is already doing well. The government at this stage should concentrate more on fulfilling the basic needs of people like water and shelter,” said former union minister and Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary.

Addressing a press meet here on Friday May 24, he said, "Let the government handle the temples that are already under muzrai. Picking up this issue at this stage will not do any good or be beneficial to the government. It is not an achievement in any way."

He promised to bring the matter before the government and assured that he would not allow the government to interfere in the administration of Sri Krishna Math.

On the 'Jail Bharo' movement planned by the BJP on May 27, he said that BJP leaders should be ashamed of themselves first before calling the UPA corrupt. "What is the position of the leaders in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh? As far as overall development of the country is concerned, India is doing better than America and Brazil but we underestimate ourselves," he said.

“People have high expectations from the government, and I hope the CM fulfills them. I have directed all the newly elected ministers including the CM to be careful because there are active bodies like the Lokayukta watching out for any wrong move by the government,” he said.

"There may be chances that a minister or the CM may change with time. May be every senior leader will get an opportunity to become a minister," he added.

Commenting on next year's general elections, he said, “As per various surveys, NDA has more chances of coming to power at the center. We still have one more year in hand and the UPA government's achievement during this one year will be the decided in the general elections, and not the survey."

The interesting feature of this web news is that of the 26 comments none were so critical of Sri Poojary's opinion as was in earlier many occasions. This shows that Poojary's statement had made many readers who are hostale about him have started accepting his views and appriciating his candid opinion.
When Siddu took charge as new CM many expected an hoped he will really work sincerely without bias as he was a seasonsal and experienced politician. But the situations and statements by him immediately assuming power made many that he is not matured enough to discharge the duties as CM.He prioritised cheap liquor, taking over Sree Krishna mutt of Udupi and Gokarna temple are being looked as a revenge politcs by many.Interestingly Poojary might have though unless some brake is applied for Siddues tongue things many deteriorate and effect the future prospctus of Congress in the state as general election is on the cards in early 2014.Whatever Poojary has asserted has helped to chnage the opinion about him and now many of of his critcs will start admiring him which will definitely go a long way in strengtheninh his party here and elsewhere in the state. There is no doubt in it.
Poojary's statement has demolished BJPs enthusiasm to build up strong movement against the Congress/CM in the state stands shattered severely.
Seeing at things I see there Siddu may be CM for full term and somebody accepted to all sections may take over anytime as Congress party has ambitious plans to win at least 20 MP seats in the new general election. This is emminent.

A Very smart move by cunning Politicians like Poojary. He knew very well that, touching Udupi Matt is not a Joke. Even our new MLA Pramod would come under tremendous pressure to stay away from Udupi Matt. Before BJP along with VHP and RSS would make some morcha against this issue, Poojary might have taken the initiative sensing trouble for newly formed Congress Government in Karnataka because when you touch Udupi Matt, not only Karnataka, entire World will woke up to protest the Government move. Moreover, Poojary might have sensed trouble for his Kudroli Temple too if Congress Government touches Udupi Matt

Govt should not interfere in religious matters. When they do so they loose their credibility. So it's a warning to congress govt. don't do anything which is not acceptable to the public. Let the religious leader decide what they want. Don't give a chance to BJP who believes in divide n rule policy. Siddu is a wise man and won't do anything in revenge. People of Udupi has kept confidence in congress. Huge margin of win by Pramod Madhwaraj is living example. Let same status prevail.

Mr.Janardhana Poojary is GEM of a politician. I think he is misunderstood by many, but no one in south canara can match the caliber of Janardhana Poojary. Mangalorean Voters really didnt recognize him well and made him to feel defeat in successive elections. But those who won against Janardhana Poojary proved worst performers. After getting eleceted none of these MPs turned face to mangalore and tried to improve it. The story continues to this day with election of Nalin Kumar who won against Janardhana Poojary.

Mangalorean citizens must ask what is the contributions of Nalin Kumar after becoming MP. WHat are the works carried out by Nalin for the wellfare of Mangalore ? ANything worthwhile to talk about by MP Nalin Kumar ?

BJP with the signals from Kalladka Bhat fielded Nalin Kumar from Nowhere and Mangalorean poeple blindly Vote for him. He doesnt have any background of social work. After getting elected, HE is just enjoying status of MP and living a posh life. People sighted him travelling in a Pajero, with one leg kept on another in lavish style, with his friends having a jolly city ride. It looks like power has entered into his head and doing nothing. He wil wake up when religious and communal issues come to light. Otherwise he is in deep sleep. Mangalorean voters have committed same mistake of electing an MP who doesnt work for the society. When wil people learn lessons ?

The narration for Mr. Nalin Kumar Kateel and for Mr.Janardhana Poojary are the facts.

But people in Mangalore in particular were brain washed or say misled by these fundamentalist's who are just concerned to play politics out of "Religion" and not for "Development" or say "Growth".

In Politics one(the voter!!!) must understand first the "Credibility and the Capability and then the Political Experience to handle Local Issues - whichever Party/Religion they belong to" of the Person/Candidate representing that constituency while Voting.

That's the "Basic Problem" with us dear.

J.Poojary has learnt a hard lesson from his past mistakes, and wiser counsel has prevailed upon him now. Hence this sudden U-Turn.
Between 1982-1992, he used to insult all the Darmadarshis & Mathadeeshas of all the big Temples, besides heaping insults on all upper caste people in all his public speeches. After that he was defeated in all the MP elections. That is why now this artificial respect for Udupi Matha & Dharmasthala Dharmadarshi.
