Mangalore, May 25: The new office of Mangalore South MLA J R Lobo was inaugurated at the MCC building, Kadri here on Saturday May 25. It was earlier the office of KUDCEMP.

The spacious office, located on the second floor of the MCC building, has a chamber for the MLA, a meeting hall, rooms for assistant officers and a reception.

The office was inaugurated by former union minister and Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary by cutting the ribbon.

Addressing party workers and the media at the office meeting hall, Poojary said, "I am happy to be part of this occasion. When I was a member of the Lok Sabha, I did not expect any government facility, car or officer, but it is nice to see J R Lobo take up an office like this and make himself more approachable to people. This will allow people to meet him more easily."

He added, "This office should not be limited to only the officials or party workers, it should be accessible to the general public. It is an opportunity for people to come and seek his help in resolving their problems."

He advised the party workers to strive hard and said, "It is our dharma to serve people. The opposition as well as some people are waiting for us to make mistakes. Do not let it happen. People wanted a change from the misrule of the former BJP government, and hence they chose us. They have lots of expectations from us, and we should do our utmost to fulfil them. Make use of this opportunity to serve people."

Lauding J R Lobo for his intiatives, he said, "J R Lobo has emerged as a person who see beyond caste and other differences and works for people of sections. Let him be a role model to the society and win the affection of people from all walks of life."

He also cautioned, "If J R Lobo ever indulges in corruption or anything that is anti-people, I will be the first to stand against him. May god bless him in his endeavours."

On a concluding note, he urged party workers to wholeheartedly support J R Lobo in his mission.

In his address, J R Lobo thanked party workers for playing a pivotal role in his victory and said, "Because of the efforts of the party workers who worked with a single goal and unity, I could win the elections. The election campaign was akin to a battle, with all party workers uniting together and keeping their spirits high throughout. We were determined to win. For all this, I wholeheartedly thank the party workers and supporters."

Echoing Poojary's suggestions, Lobo said, "This office has been set up for the people. They can come any time and approach me if they need help or if any injustice has been done to them. I urge the public to make full use of this facility."

District Congress vice-president Ibrahim Kodijal highlighted the role of wives in the success of people's representatives and said that without their support and encouragement it would not be possible to serve the society.

Congress leaders Ivan D'Souza, Ashraf, Vijaykumar Shetty, K S Mohammed, Suresh Ballal and a number of party workers were present.

Friends: Take the first step towards eradicating Corruption!!:
Eg: Now a general student who intends to pursue Engg/Medicine etc, need to spend close to a crore until his Post graduation. Either he gives up his passion and becomes something for his living or spend Crore to becomes a Doctor/engineer etc..When he finishes his PG, he is 26-28 yers old and starts earning with a work life of 22-30 years. In this span he has to recover his educational cost, his retirement plans, his/family security, education of his children etc... How can you expect him to secure his future without entering the currupt areas to achieve his aspirations within the short work life?? So Can the government guarantee the choice of higher education each and every capable student and make it affordable?? I am sure, this will be the first step towards eradicating curruption!!!!
Dear people, join me in promoting this and asking for higher education to each and every capable child..... to make our country self sufficient and curruption free.
Mr Lobo please look into this....I wish you good support and may God grant you the wisdom and courage to bring change.

Opening an office for the purpose of conducting meetings and more particularly to meet people - hear them and help them is indeed a step in the right direction.

It is good to see former politicians being a prt of this strategy.

I join scores of people in wishing J.R. Lobo my best wishes.

Congrats dear sir. No doubt you have got ample of experience to do developmental activities in Mangalore. Hope our JRL sir would definitely take appropriate steps in this regard. But people should not be haste to expect everything at a stretch. Let us tell our problems and other grieviences and give him some time to do the needful. All of a sudden we cannot expect miracles from him. So far he has visited/inspected vented dam, Thumbe, Central Market, Old Port area etc. Let him also inspect the sea erosion areas and take steps for the prevention of it. Wish you all the best sir.

It is sad that Mr.Ivan D'souza name has been dragged unnecessarily. Remember, when the entire congress clan was sleeping at mangalore, he was the one who was making some noise with local issues. It's natural anybody would have been hurt for denial of ticket but he stayed on unlike Mr. Salian (kaup) and others elsewhere.

It is our pride, to see our DK/Udupi great leaders Janardhana Poojary, to inaugurate the office when we felt his absence, during the victory procession he was not present.

We are glad that J R Lobo had said, it is the victory of the
party workers for playing a pivotal role in his victory and said, "Because of the efforts of the party workers who worked with a single goal and unity, I could win the elections. The election campaign was akin to a battle, with all party workers uniting together and keeping their spirits high throughout. We were determined to win. For all this, I wholeheartedly thank the party workers and supporters."

The message is crystal clear expressed by J R Lobo. It is the voters and the people are KING MAKERS. Not individual who try to hijack the party workers tireless contribution to this victory.

We wish J R Lobo all the best in his endeavours. Nice to see the presence of Suresh Ballal, Ashraf, Ivan D'souza,Vijay here in this inauguration function.

    Dear Mr. Harold Dcunha

You are obsessed with KINGMAKER concept, and not come out of it, yet. Plz come out of it. No one is interested to debate on this issue. All know, voters and people are the KINGMAKERS, no need of you to repeatedly say the same to the world. JRL wont be able to tell to the public what Crooked/Backstabbing Ivan did to him, from behind the scene, right from chaos created while joining congress party till May 4th 2013. Ivan was real KINGMAKER in that sense!! But JRL wil forgive Ivan and move on with life. Let there be no doubt about it.

Don't bring the subject of Kingmaker.
If you are interested pls chck below link:

http://www.daijiworld.com/news/news_disp.asp?n_id=174448&n_tit=Mangalore%3A Work for people irrespective of caste - Bishop to J R Lobo

He clearly stated who helped him to come to politics and win the election. Read word from horse's mouth, that too infront of Bishop!

Dear Stany, Why you have involved Bishop's name unnecessarily here which has nothing to do with my statement above. Did I ever mentioned religious people name here in my statement?
Why my above statement has really pricking u so much and bothering you. If the cap suits u, please wear it.
There is no hard and fast rule, that my liking should be yours and vice versa. But do not instill your opinion on others . Hope this is clear. Have a nice day.

It would be more appropriated if Janardhan Poojari will warn all MPs, MLAs, govt. officials including Siddu against corruption instead of JRL being singled out.

JP sounds like a moral police of JRL, whose integrity is very well above the above Dhoti politicians.

This will prove that JP is sincere in what he utters.

Let him also look into all the corruption that is taking place right under his nose around M'Lore including the corruption in the police forces which has come to light in Mangalore.

MCC office at kadri is people friendly and easily approachable. There wont be any rush or any problem to meet representatives here. Kadri-Mallikatta is one of the less-busy areas in Mangalore. No need to stand in queue or no need to worry to raise your concerns with JRL. Just walk in anytime and you wil be welcomed. This kind of atmosphere of cordiality and friendliness with common man is needed for efficient administration.

By the way, where does Nalin Kumar sit ? Can public reach him and raise their problems with Mangalore MP?
